Maybe someone could address a few of my questions concerning STEAM. First....do i absolutly need to download it..i know eventually its going to be incorperate..but to get beta 1.6 will i need to dl it. Also.. when i DID download it..i got a BUNCH of problems with CS and had to take it off. Should all i need to do is dl it then add it to my cs folder..and everything should work fine? (i have mod version)

The biggest difference are the visuals, the new graphics are sweet, be ready for an upgrade!

BTW, the riot shield isn't limited to just the 5-7, you can use any pistol.



DE + Riot Shield = RAPE.



If you are going up against an mp5er, you put up the shield they can't shoot you then when they go for reload put it down and pull out deagle. Its pretty easy :-\

i hope the those working on cs/cz and 1.6 listen to the people who have got to play with the shield at the CPL like mastermind and make changes before the final version comes out.

I'm sure that tactics will evolve to counteract these new situations.



For all of you berating Steam, hold your horses. Do you suppose that Valve would be touting it as a platform for other software companies to use (see the interview from this article) if they didn't think it could cope with demand?



Please don't base your comments on Steam 2.0 on your previous Steam experiences, which it seems were little more than a proof of concept. If you take a moment to read up on it, which I realise is probably asking a little much, you'll find that the new version of Steam is significantly changed... hence the 2.0 tag.

No, but Valve and associates will have reduced the amount of bandwidth required for each update, and so mega-stress times will be at initial product release time only, and they can order up bandwidth for Steam in advance. I'm sure they could manage to handle a single burst every six months or whatever.

I'm not reading anymore f***ing preview articles until the ship a f***ing game. Maybe if Erik Johnson had worked on the game instead of giving preview interviews all the time it would have shipped by now.



1.6 will come out in April, CSCZ probably never, but I bet Gooseman ships 2.0 on time, unless those idiots at Valve get their hands on it first.

for all of you non-believers, they do have cs 1.6 here at the intel booth, and yes mastermind is correct, you can use any pistol with the riot shield..for now. This isn't the final version.
