whyw ould we dread steam. oh well, i guess because we wont have to fight for download spots and downed links anymore, those were always the best way to download the new cs version. what the hell.



anyway, if cz does come out around summer it will be a nice period, with halo pc comming out also (hopefully both will come out) im still waiting for halo pc before i play the x box version

What makes you think that Steam will be completely flawless? We will all still have to fight for download spots. Only with Steam you won't be able to go to another web site to find a faster download.

HomeLAN also extracted the news that the beta of Counter-Strike 1.6 will be released via Steam on January 7th. That's not too far off from the mid December date.

I'm actually more hopeful that ATI will help us out in a Doom3 stylee and post a WIP version of the original Gearbox CZ; in my opinion, that looked to be a better game than the new Ritual one will be. The fact of the matter is that Gearbox were (supposedly) developing the game for a year, and by the look of the videos going around, had got it to an almost finished state. The whole reason I play CS is because I prefer non-linear games, and this new CZ sounds like the kind of thing that Valve are going to sell to 56k people, or those who get scared by the internet and don't go on it.



So go ahead ATI; if you had the beta code of CZ, then whack it in a .rar and post it somewhere. I'm sure that if Valve had a dollar for every time it gets downloaded, they would make more $$$ than the new CZ ever would...

...is this to the new cs multiplayer version? or does it mean CZ only? i dont think cs needs 10 new weapons....thats 10 unused weapons...

The riot shield is SO GAY. We have 1.6 beta on new computers here in the INTEL booth, and its so dumb, its really powerful. The new guns fit in well between the mp5/colt, but good teams will still probably save for colts/aks.



The biggest difference are the visuals, the new graphics are sweet, be ready for an upgrade!

BTW, the riot shield isn't limited to just the 5-7, you can use any pistol.



DE + Riot Shield = RAPE.



If you are going up against an mp5er, you put up the shield they can't shoot you then when they go for reload put it down and pull out deagle. Its pretty easy :-\
