NGZ Servers

[CSN NewsBot]

Net Gaming Zone (NGZ) is a new company that hosts East CS game servers starting as low as $45 a month. That includes daily stats, all the plug-ins you love, StatsMe, and HLGuard. Their facility is fully equipped with an OC-3 backbone; they currently lease multiple DS-3 connections for their own use that are not shared with any other company or service. That means more 1's and 0's flow to your computer, and, if I learned anything from getting my PhD in Computer Science, I can say that that's a good thing.

• cisco 7206 router with 3 ethernet to wan interface cards

Those server specs sure sound dandy, but you must realize that in 10 years the robots that develop out of these super computers will not only eat these servers for lunch, but will be responsible for the annihilation of mankind. In preparation, I know you're dying to test out the connection:

I'm pinging 210-230 to the servers, which isn't bad for my connection, but really doesn't reflect on the quality, to be honest.

yeah I gotta say I'm not impressed at all. I'm on Optimum Online in NJ and my ping is 135 and they say they are located in NY. My ping to AoWC all the way in Atlanta is only like 85 and my ping to Griffinrun in NY is like 15. Even Jolt US I get a ping of 75 to, so I guess these guys are still learning but as I said I'm not impressed. It's one thing to say you have great equipment and hardware but its another thing to back it up.

Optimum Online has been having problems in NJ. Actually more than just a little problems; my friends in Howell have been getting 135 pings to most servers on the East coast alone, and the ones on the West coast aren't playable (they are worse than 56k pings). So start calling up Cablevision and bitching, Optimum used to be alot better than Comcast in NJ; but for some places now it's the very direct opposite.



I'm pinging 19 - 30 to these servers, the only other ping that I've gotten that low is on Gamedaemons Virgina servers.



These are really damn nice servers so far (atleast by ping) I haven't had the chance to play on them.



BTW, I'm on Comcast network (really shitty) in South Jersey.

I live in montreal (yes in Canada) and I ping 30 so it's all good. Oh yeah, if you ping 100 from NYC you have ONE SHITTY CONNECTION. That's all I have to say on that. Nice servers.

way too expensive for meh.... i prefer the option of how many ppl... like a 12 man server is ideal.. allows for 5v5 + HLTV
