excuse me, then whats the point of them asking us to register?

what possible benefit does 'fileshack' have, if not to send out spam or publish our email addresses on a mailing list....

Fileshack gets money from you visiting their site and looking at the ads there. Getting your email address as part of a user profile lets them more easily identify you, and prevent other sites from leeching bandwidth.

Soon you'll be asking why Fileplanet also asks for your email address. They send out a weekly (or so) email that has a listing of the hottest releases of the week, and includes a few advertisements.

There's not a lot of money to be gained in selling email addresses to other people, as you can only do that once. However, keeping advertising targeted to people while they're on your site, and trying to lure them back to your site (in hopes of them viewing more advertisements) does bring in steady amounts of income. Wait... they want to get some money out of the deal, instead of just paying for the bandwidth to provide a download service because they love you?

One question, though. If you supposedly already get 100's of spam messages daily, what would one more or less really matter? Hell, my hotmail account usually gets about 150 junk messages unfiltered, and about 40 filtered (with ad-block set to high, 36 custom filters, and 150 blocked domains) daily. It's not really that hard to briefly look over the names, pick out the few that don't say "Hot underage chicks going wild!" or "Enlarge whatever body part you like!" and such, and delete the rest.

I wouldn't recommend you give out your private, spam free email account over the internet ever. However, if you want to do much on the net, it's good to have an email account that you're fine with getting spam in.

i dont mind pop up ads, and banned ads, mainly because i have ad filters set up which get rid of that sort of crap...

the worst ads are the new flash ones...which slide across your screen and then u click on the 'close' button..i havnt figured out a way to get rid of those....

It's pretty good but not great.

The modelling is pretty good, but nothing better then what we've seen before. In fact by today's standards, it's distinctly average. Thankfully today's standards are very high so even average models are nice to look at - it's just not godly.

The skins are okay, but again not great. On the wood version the wood is very red and rich, and in-game doesn't feel like real wood. Also, the orange magazine isn't exactly pretty either (orange magazines look great on AKS-74U's, but on everything else they're pretty nasty IMO). The black version is pretty standard stuff - it's pretty nice but not quite drool-worthy.

The animations are nice thoguh the origins are a tiny bit off for my liking. I also don't like how the most detailed and interesting side of the gun (the ejection port side) isn't visible 90% of the time - screw realism, I like see that ejection port fly!

Overall a nice replacement, but not to my liking and I don't think it's good enough to be put above anything else currently on here.

Well its the carbine version of the AK-47 (Such as the M4 is the carbine of an M16 which was built off the plans of an AR15... etc...)

I think its ok, nothing huge and oustanding about it. I like the idea of the model itself. The fact the skin is actually mirror like the real gun is great. No more shells slapping you on the side of the face when you shoot.

(If anyone here has been hit with a hot shell strait out of the chamber you would know what I mean... ouch!!!!)

Overall I think the score I am giveing it is based on the fact its nice addition and change. You get a different gun but same principal as the AK-47 your used to.
