wow, it seems as though the VAC is updated almost daily...good to see they finally are able to shut down the cheats before they even come out! gj valve, and i also don't know why valve is the poster child for whats wrong with CS. all the changes are overseen by the original developers and all, but thats off topic, and i dont want to feel rizzuh's wrath. They released it 3 days ago, on the cs files page & irc.

What we need from VAC.

1) Generic wallhack detection as seen in HLGuard but less resource eater.

2) Resolve the module update issue... (no more restarts)

1. You mean blocking?

3. If they dont tell youu whats blocked, you will think theres a working, not blocked cheat out.

They might stop telling us what cheats are blocked when updates stop crashing servers.

errr I forgot to add and they might not have to tell us when they update period.

Well its all good that it blocks ogc but there are so many other cheats that aren't blocked and for cheaters you would think OGC is a pain in the ass since you have to upgrade/uninstall it every week. My guess is that more then likely there are a lot of people who use the other cheats which aren't blocked and don't need to be updated every other week.



The day I quit CS(clan/daily gaming wise) I tested a total of 10 different cheats and all went undetected by VAC and HLG. There was a ton more to test but I got bored so I stopped messing with it after like an hour. Personally I think cheating takes the competition out of the game. I don't see how its more fun with cheats. Good score or bad score, I thought it was boring either way.

Well, I havn't seen nearly as many cheaters as there was before VAC, and the ones that are cheating are extremely easy to point out simply by.. hmm.. looking at them. I'm not real educated in the cheating area, but I'm pretty sure the aimbots that snap and hold your aim to one player are gone. Now it seems to make the bullets hit even if you are off target. Watching people blatently miss their target, only to get a kill is a dead give away.

Not if you're banned from the server for 24 hours.

I think he meant that a new version of cheats would come out in 2 hours... And yes, the ones who got caught would be banned for 24 hours...



In any case, Valve is still doing thier part to at least try and put a stop to cheating. And that's good enough for me.

Since 1.5's VAC, i have seen only one blatant cheater.

I think VALVe should stop announcing which cheats VAC detects/disables. That would catch the cheaters quicker, and when VAC starts banning for more than just 24 hours, the number of cheaters would quickly drop.

For now, while the banning system is still in its beta stages, they should announce which cheats are detected. But i agree that when the banning system is completed, the cheats it detects should not be announced so the cheaters take a risk joining any secure server. Eventually they should stop saying when the VAC is updated at all so that cheaters never know when they should be worried (eventually this should be always).

Exactly so that there will always be a few cheaters who are the ones to discover that there is a new VAC and report back to the cheat sites. At first it will only be a 24 hour ban =/ but hopefully it will build up very quickly.

They had a BETA for another VAC module but the beta test was over, now they're having a beta for a different part.

i got kicked 5 times from my own clan server, this beta is bugged major, it kicked and "found cheats" on 50 regulars and there is no way they cheat. This beta has major flaws in it cause i know for a fact i dont cheat and it was finding cheats on me and people i know in realy life. its just plain dosent work.
