why go to lan parties when you have your own computer and internet connection and can call people stupid noobs and blame everything on hax from the comfort of your home?

because one doesnt have to deal with idjits cheating etc on a lan. You would be dumb to cheat when people are all around you, bitter over dealing w/ cheaters online.



Then there is of course a thing called human interaction, competition, butt loads of caffein, realllly fast network, and all sorts of other uses for that network.

Yes... but what if a 7 foot tall angry man with a baseball bat came to the LAN and was using cheats :*(

heh. nope, The dudes are around 6'3 and carry a gun. Well, I dont think they bother with guns, but the cops who show up certainly do heh. this is what happened to the last dude who caused trouble at one of our events. great story behind that one heh. and no, he wasnt a guest of ours. Don't be this guy : )

yeah. www.lanparty.com has quite an extensive list of lanpartys around the world. there probably is one in your area. heck, a lot of people around here jsut have small ones w/ their friends at their houses.
