And I think that comrade really doesn't fit the essence of the map...although rust was submitted quite often, it sounded like a good one. I also liked de_MAD and de_sentinel, as they were very fitting. The people who chose names like de_armory obviously didn't read about the map setting =pComment

de_relapse is okay for the theme but doesn't represent the map at all. de_ironcurtain is great with its double meaning in context and setting. I think comrade captures the whole soviet union thing sure, but it just isn't very exciting or map relevant. I tried to think of a few de_red... names for that angle, de_redground, de_redfall. Finally for the whole soviet union/nuclear reference I thought de_legacy. But in the end the whole soviet-union connection when you read the map blurb is only a fragment of the picture barney conveyed of the map; so why base the name completely on it?
I agree with Lag Leech's comment, with this great oportunity for creativity plus the thousands of submission, you'd think something more impressive than de_comrade would win.Comment

No, you shouldn't have named it yourself. If that were the case, it probably would have been far worse than de_comrade. So, you did good, even though your brain could not comprehend anything too far beyond a russion word. Suprised you didn't pick de_vodka. Just messin' man; keep up the good map making.Comment

I thought with all these submissions we would have he best possible name there could be. A legendary aww inspiring name that would capture the essence of such a map and convay the over all feeling that you recieve since THOUSANDS of subbmissions were turned in. And when I found out it was De_Comrade, that just fell short.
P.S.: Mine was de_ironcurtain, which I thougt was good b/c it said about the whole steel theme of the map and since it was used to describe the U.S.S.R. in the famous whinston churchill quote. Oh well, it was a little long any ways.Comment
