LMAO...The first thing that came to my mind was de_forsaken, but it seemed too obvious! I thought a map had already been named that. So, I settled on my second idea: de_relapse. I should have known.



de_relapse because of the sudden return/relapse of a nuclear threat after many years of peace.

I think I'll do a little review of the submissions



de_vodka - Vodka is russian, but I don't know how it relates to CS.

de_stone - Very bland, more fitting for an outdoor map, like de_cbble.

de_commie - Too derrogatory.

de_velocity - Not bad, but doesn't capture the essence well.

de_rust - Had no chance since so many people submitted.

de_steel - Very bland also.

de_armory - Not bad, just not chosen.

de_oxide - Fancy name for rust; they didn't know what it meant.

de_karma - Don't see how this fits the map.

de_tension - Not bad, any map could be called this though.

de_endgame - Don't see how this fits.

de_rustyshed - Just doesn't flow off the tongue very well.

de_tente - Again, they probably didn't know what it meant.

de_relapse - Perfect.



de_corona - Just plain stupid, as this is a dark map corona makes u think of sun.

de_forsaken - Good name, a little obvious.

de_comrade - Congratulations, someone must have liked it.

MAN,

I thought with all these submissions we would have he best possible name there could be. A legendary aww inspiring name that would capture the essence of such a map and convay the over all feeling that you recieve since THOUSANDS of subbmissions were turned in. And when I found out it was De_Comrade, that just fell short.



P.S.: Mine was de_ironcurtain, which I thougt was good b/c it said about the whole steel theme of the map and since it was used to describe the U.S.S.R. in the famous whinston churchill quote. Oh well, it was a little long any ways.

The explaination of my submission:



Sentinel was a proposed ABM system designed to defend cities against ballistic missile attacks during the cold war.



Since the map is "set inside a de-commissioned ex-Soviet cold war weapons store" and the object of the T's is to detonate the C4 at the missle containers, I thought that Sentinel (aside from sounding cool) was fitting.



(i personally didnt feel that 'de_comrade' was a very creative name, nor do i think it sounds cool. the only thing it has to do with the map is that its a russian word. whoopty doo. but thats just my lil opinion)



Unfortunatly im not allowed to take part in the contests. D:
