Hmm do you really think that some people, after seeing this contest and being displeased with the results with little explanation, will donate money? Just my observation. SOme will some may not. I think it would be nice if Rizzuh gave a little bit more in depth on why that perticuliar image won instead of something to the affect of "my contest my ruls my judgement" (not exact quote).

Still no response from Rizzuh on the explanation of his lack of a good explanation. Does he realize who supports him and who paid for the prizes. No I did not donate. No I did not pay for the prize. However, I bet many of you did, and all Nationalist did and with so many unpleased people dont YOU derserve an explantion?

Hey Rizzuh Im actually trying to help you in a way by posting this. I mean I really enjoy this site, go to it everyday. But with you not explainging jack schit on the winniner and why exactly, I think your really annoying many of your loyal peeps who donate to this site. Or at least a lot of them visit very often wich contributes a very very small amount of money via banners. Im not trying to say your getting rich of this site (prob making less money than if you didnt have this burden/obligation on your hands) Im just trying to understand whats up with this total lack of explantion?

Eh this site still rules. Just this contest could have used some more explanation in the winning result.

The first runner up was the funniest, it seemed a lot funnier after he mentioned that the guy was aimed at his own head. funny shit :)

I don't feel like dealing with these comments and how they're just an endless string of flames. I'll amuse you by replying to your comment, but please keep in mind that I'd rather focus on making my site run than replying to all the flames that I get. Not only to contests get flamed, mailbags, strategies, articles, news, and everything that makes this site the best CS fansite for tens of thousands of fans daily is torn to bits by unappreciative people, who will only realize what the site does for them, and the community at large, when we disappear.

For that reason I am making a large effort to simply ignore the negative feedback that this site receives, mainly because it provides no logical solution to the "problems" except not posting content. You may think attempting to ignore negative feedback is egotisical or jaded. You're not in my position, so your opinion might be merited. I used to think that about certain webmasters too, before CS-Nation.

I'm under no obligations to explain how I run my site to anyone, including those who donate. People who buy CS-Nationalism or donate know that the site has a long history and will have a long future of quality. After they give us the money, it is ours. We run contests, we set rules, we pick winners. If people feel their money was wasted, they can assume that their $1.00 was spent to pay the author of an article (or something).

If you don't agree with the winner of the contest, then that's your opinion. You probably wouldn't be happy if any other image won. No image was a clear winner, in my eyes.

The reason the first runner-up didn't win is because his full size image had a horrible Photoshop insert of the CT. I didn't realize until after publishing the article that the resized image (to fit within the site's tables) hides these artifacts.

I knew from the top 8 entries that this would happen. It was lose-lose. I posted the feature for continuity, not because I thought it was spectacular. I knew what the result would be. I don't want to deal with it. It is not good for the site for me to sit here debating about things I cannot change (even though I am right now because I dislike attacks on my character in the shadow of giving away prizes).

Either case, I don't think I'm "wrong" about anything. It's not my image to defend, so I'm not going to sit here arguing about it. Even though I just did.

So you ignore all negative feedback from your viewers or, in the case of nationalists, customers? This is not egotistical it's just wrong! I don't think that most of the comments here are flames, they are just people expressing their disapproval with the result of the compo.

If you don't feel that you have to explain yourself to anyone, including the people who give you money then that is a very callous and unprofessional way of running CS Nation.

If you are going to continue to run competitions with such valuable prizes then may I suggest three things to help ease the sensibilities of the CSN viewers and avoid such a large negative reaction in the future:

1 - A clearer description of the compo requirements, including details such as how it will be judged, i.e. whether originality is more important than the entry quality (time spent on it) or vice versa.

2 - A panel of at least three judges to decide on the winner of any competition, thus meaning a fairer result and less responsibility heaped on one person.

3 - A clearer explanation of why the winning entry was selected
