SolidVelvet sent us word the one alpha program Redline has been released to the world. Described as a WonId logger, it's useful in keeping track of llamas and cheaters. There's only a Linux version out at the moment so you Windows server managers are a bit SOL at the moment.

yeah it changes the persons name to punk or cheater depending on ban. i dont get why that is a dumb idea, since you banned this person from your server, its easy to assume you did it either for cheating or for being an asshead.
Anyways... if the download is not working you can get the tarball from a mirror here:

its a really nice program that works to keep people you dont want in the server out, as well as nice rcon command line integration from linux shell.Comment

great to see sam that you understand how this works. and i think the technical term is ban. but whatever.
to clear things up:
see the base problem comes from being able to store a bunch of people in the banned.cfg. We have over 30,000 wonIDs in our database. There is no freaking way your server will load with a banned.cfg file that big. This keeps that overhead down, plus has some nice other features for admins, like being able to SSH into your server from anywhere and take care of the server, instead of having to use a program like agent orange, which is a good program, but you are limited to what you can do since you cant work on the actual machine.Comment

Anyway, this gives great powers to newbie admins. They get to ban anyone that has a higher score than them (ie anything above 1-138743292347943791274380).
