Its letting me download, I went to the server list and double clicked a game and it started. However it says 243 minutes remaining, EAT ME.

DO NOT. I repeat DO NOT ATTEMPT TO JOIN ANY SERVERS right now. All it'll do is crash your CS. And its time wasting all over again. There are rumours that you can successfully host your own game if you keep the console open. I am yet to test that out.

guys when you first run steam it will say something like updating platfrom.dll just be patient and keep that open dont push cancel or anything after an eternity it will give you the creating account screen and after a long time it will start downlaoding you have to be patient im downloading it now

no, I waited, it updated platform.dll, I created an account. I got to the menu with all the games and stuff, I double click counter-strike, it says Preparing to play for about a minute and fails everytime, ive tried like 40 times now over several hours, fails every time. What am i doing wrong?

im still at the preloading half-life screen so i dont know what goes on affter that

I think you just can't join the beta right now. steam seems to work better now, but they stopt the registration for the beta I think

i can successfully start my own game. I tested the weapons but i cant see if they are good or not till im actually shooting at someone.the galil sounds awsome and the famas look bland. the new origins on the models are quite cool tho

yeah i can host a game fine and play with all the new stuff



took 50mins for the game to accually load thanks to my 56k



how much crap does steam download!



even after i quit the game and drop backed to the desktop steam continues to download something....

I personally wasn't impressed with the first steam, too glitchy and I couldn't use my custom models. If they can absolutely guarantee that

the new Steam won't be like that, than I may consider using it. All the same though, I would like to see a 1.6 upgrade for the retail version, which I have. I loves my guns, loves my guns......

has anyone been able to play online yet?????....connect to other servers?????....cause i always get disconnected....however...i can host my own game no problem....had fun on militia with the gas grenade



try buying gas grenade and drop them as quickly as you can....you wont see shit after the 3rd one =D
