        a) I'll agree with that

        but

        b) In fact, they DO owe us something. The ability to play a game that has been paid for. This is causing many people to be unable to play their rightfully licensed software. -No, they don't owe us shit on a stick. You payed for Counter-Strike 1.0 (Or Half-Life), you downloaded the 1.5 update (err..hopefully) and that you can play without troubles.

1.6 On the other hand you CANNOT gain rights to because you did not pay. Valve is doing this out of their own goodness. Fuck off and calm down or don't do anything.

        c) Steam is what it is now, but who knows what it will become. I can easily say what it is now. Steam is a way for Valve to get around having a publisher. Sure there are good things that COULD come of it. I think, however, we will see the bad outweigh the good. The bad, and for some reason I don't see alot of sites mentioning this, is that STEAM IS A WAY FOR VALVE TO GET AROUND HAVING A PUBLISHER. A publisher provides the vital backbone (see: cash and other resources) to make sure stuff like today doesn't happen. A publisher keeps most of the testing internal. A publisher ensures tighter quality control. These three things would have prevented what has happened. Don't worry that Steam may some day cost money, worry that it will allow products to be rushed out with many bugs after only external, unprofessional beta testing and without the guarantee that the developer will be around to support it.-What the hell? Who cares? If Steam is once money, then you can bitch about A)

        d) See your c. We don't know what Steam will become. This may be the future as Valve wants it.- I do. It will become nothing. Valve will elimnate it. It's costing them too much money, and they know it.

        e) Agreed. But then why learn the alphanumerabet? Why not?
My thoughts are in that quote in bold..

I hope this is the case only for the BETA version. The official release SHOULDN't have to do this. It's a waste of internet time for those without unlimited (metered) connections via dial-up if you didn't want to play online in the first place.

I have a feeling it's just because of it being beta though.

                      rofl.

                      unthankful retards.

i sometimes wonder how valve has enough morale in the company to be bashed everytime they release something new.

plz, for those complaining, you go fucking try to release an update to the single most played online fps. lets see you find a server that can withstand millions of people downloading at the same time. lets see you come up with something constructive, instead of the constant lame bashing for something that you're not even worth. is valve getting more money off updating cs 1.5-1.6? rofl.

instead of bashing, offer some bandwidth.

instead of bitching, give some constructive input.

instead of skipping school/work to download cs, meet reality.

unless you're bill gates, you have no right to complain to the (small, i might add) company that is serving millions simultaneously wanting a software.

                      think b4 u bitch.

Now does cs 1.6b take over your original cs 1.5?

                            I have heard mixed things

I work supporting high end lines, they usually don't have bandwidth caps on T1's and above (T3, OC12, etc). A lot depends on what kind of bandwidth they have. If they are frac on what they have they can upgrade very quickly (15-30 minutes of work in the routers), if they need a new line, it can be 6-8 weeks minimum.
