I did ask this one. Nobody replied, but since I now know that 1.6 has a new directory (separate install), you'd have to make another installation of podbot to that CS inside the steam directory (if at all possible).

but



b) In fact, they DO owe us something. The ability to play a game that has been paid for. This is causing many people to be unable to play their rightfully licensed software.



c) Steam is what it is now, but who knows what it will become. I can easily say what it is now. Steam is a way for Valve to get around having a publisher. Sure there are good things that COULD come of it. I think, however, we will see the bad outweigh the good. The bad, and for some reason I don't see alot of sites mentioning this, is that STEAM IS A WAY FOR VALVE TO GET AROUND HAVING A PUBLISHER. A publisher provides the vital backbone (see: cash and other resources) to make sure stuff like today doesn't happen. A publisher keeps most of the testing internal. A publisher ensures tighter quality control. These three things would have prevented what has happened. Don't worry that Steam may some day cost money, worry that it will allow products to be rushed out with many bugs after only external, unprofessional beta testing and without the guarantee that the developer will be around to support it.

I have CS installed on two HD's, so one CS gets Steam and the other one stays on 1.5 in case I don't like.

Hey, Steam realizes they made a mistake, now its time to fix the problems. CS 1.5 can still charm many till the release of cs 1.6b, so not all is lost, I think some people need to relax a bit. Now I am not sure how long valve will take, who knows it could be 3 to 4 days or whatever is necessary. Until then I say, be patient, play cs 1.5, and soon 1.6b will be here. Some of these posts are ridiculous, and I believe some people need to have a little more patience, especially those who are younger in age. Honestly, I think that cs 1.6b should have been introduced to the community using the same style that has been used before, which is the update files, etc. But I am not them. Good Luck to Valve, they have learned a lesson, but will bring to us cs 1.6b in time, so everyone should calm down, watcha movie, go to school, go out or somethin, I'm sure the problems will be fixed soon.
