Yeah each client would still have to connect to steam that could take days at these speeds, lol

I'll sum it up like this ...

      a) Square peg, round hole. Quit trying to make it work (and complaining when it doesn't); you're only making yourselves look stupid. It's not SUPPOSED to work. The master servers won't auth you for online play, even if you do manage to get the footprint loaded and a local game launched.
Omg you gave me an idea! what i just keep pounding on the square peg?!? it will eventually go through that damn round hole!!

heh, thats what we are all like, we've got the executable sitting there, so we are gonna hammer the servers till it will download 1.6B

Also, I've been registered for steam v1. I installed steam 2 to the same directory. Do I have to re-register again or will it pick up my previous settings/account?

OK say steam IS a good idea (cough) and it all gets working fine, thats still a really annoying system: To play on a lan u need to log onto it with steam, HELLO????? ANYONE THINK OF THIS???

          Scene:

Your at a lan party of 100 poeple +, u want to play cs and so does everyone else networked, U cant because u need to log onto steam and u dont have an internet conenction at the lan, HOW GAY IS THAT? I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS, VALVE IS SHIT AT MAKEING CHOICES, Steam really is a Steaming pile of shit

              b) Valve doesn't owe any of us a damn thing. Quit swearing at Valve. We all know you're gonna continue to play Counter-Strike religiously anyway. The same thing happens several times a year; the more popular it gets, the more pseudo-aggressive twelve-year-olds rant and rave about things they know nothing about. "Yeah developers, shame on you, we know all about how titles get produced and published, because we r0x0rz!"

              [/rant]
              i payed $8 for counter-strike

i would like to make them earn it if u know what i mean

One question I haven't seen anyone ask yet:

                    Is 1.6 compatible with POD-bot?

I doubt it as steam keeps cs in one big file right? Unless it actually keeps it in the original cs directories then podbot wouldnt install porperly/not work

Also I dont know how they would work with the new items, whever they would just not buy them or not.........
