Steam 2.0 BETA Delayed

I'm way too lazy to read all these posts, so I'll just say something. Good thing I didn't skip school and my finals like I planned on doing :-)

Valve dropped a major bollock on this one. But if this program was actually leaked by the media. There would be major lawsuits being arranged. Bet the people at Valve are definately having a strokey-beard meeting saying stuff like, "Oi steam u n00b!" and "What wen its finished steams gunna 0wn j00!" Anyway, Valve, if ur gonna test a new thing out, please don't test it on one of the biggest games ever. Try TFC, only 12 ppl will be downloading compared to the thousands of cs.

Wisoo, I don't think we SHOULD have to, but as of now, I'm an unimformed mofo. So I think we need to for now, but I'm sure it'll prolly end up being optional. Too many problems.

This is only 1.6 beta. The REAL 1.6 will be downloaded the same as the others.

cs 1.5 will still run fine using your cstrike.exe (or hl.exe -game cstrike), steam isn't at all involved with 1.5.

Thank God. This steam thing has irked me from the begining. Just never sounded like aplausable idea to me. Like really, who wants to use a messanger system in a fps? I just doesn't make sense. It works well enough for games like D2 and Wc3 and Bw cause you can actually stop and type, but with CS, you just don't have time. I don't think its practical. That and almost everyone you play CS with are friends you can prolly call anyway. And thats just my bitchen on the msging. Wooo I need sleep.

I killed 4 guys in 10 bullets. They better weaken this gun. This is just...so so sad.



Famas is, like some guy said, small colt, basically.



Riot sheild...Oh dear god, every kind of fire is blockable. Theres even a bug where you can't get hit, even in the back.

whatever folder you tell it to install in, it defaults to

C:\Program Files\Steam

I was one of the lucky ones too.. I got steam 2.0.. Let me see, it is very slow and errors keep happening.. arg... Well dont worry people, and why are people complaining?

Thats why it says BETA, for those of you who are too dumb to think; you should have that in mind.

how'd you get to play against 4 people?

I can;t connect to ANY servers, and NOONE can connect to mine

I thought it actually updated the CS files like 1.5 to 1.6. There goes my idea of copying it to LAN clients.



anyhoo, when I run steam, I get:

Steam version: 0 Game version: 0

Attempting to connect to Steam CSs...

ERROR: Failed to connect to any GeneralDirectoryServer

ERROR: Receive Failure, Winsock Error 10054 "Connection reset by peer"

Anybody experiencing this also?

i mean the big slow 400mb file you dl through steam. it never asked where to dl to. it just gives you the option to launch the game as soon as it finishes dling. i'm guessing it goes into some kind of temporary directory?
