The blowtorch will probably be for a specific mission rather than a permament part of the single player inventory. And yes it'll probably be used to breach a door or something else that otherwise can't be opened. Don't make such a fuss over it.

Terrorists will not be playable in CZ (while I knew this), one question deserves to be asked? But why!!!???? I would rather unleash some crazy terror on the masses than play some gay ass dogooder who never shows up on the news cuz their Ops are "covert", translation for those not in-the-know this means "ghey". CZ ain't worth the money if I can get the online play free. Make a game where I be a terrorist, Ritual, and you got yourself a customer. Terrorists are cool as long as they don't mess with me.

heh if its gonna be used to open doors, entry charges work a hell of a lot better.
Blowtorches are a means of getting through a locked door when no one should hear you coming. A breaching charge makes a hell of a boom and is used when you plan on having someone on the other side. That loud boom can also stun the enemy much like a flashbang. If they are close enough to the door it can possibly kill them as well.

Most breaching teams carry torches when they know they are going to encounter something along the lines of a heavy steel door that needs to be opened. A breaching charge wont open a steel door. Most likely neither will a lockpick kit.

yea, the blowtorch didnt sound too bad to me, swat teams carry them (I think) to breech doors and shit, but it will be pretty useless in MP.

the camera thing makes the least sense, because CS isn't THAT stealthy.

out of interest... does anybody know how they put the little rocket booster on the end of a grenade?

                          [lame joke alert]

if the thing is called a LAW... what does that make Judge Dredd?

"I am the LAW!" hahaha.... hey, i warned you.

Ok, let's put it this way. Say a group of T's are hold up in a building, locked behind a heavy steel door and it's strong enough to withstand gunfire, he 'nades, c4, or the remote bombs. Your only natural choice is to cut through the door. Now, you sure as hell ain't gonna move very fast with a diamond bladed gas powered saw, but with a torch (torches vary in sizes, including pocket sized ones designed especially for short special ops situations) will cut through just about any guage of steel, and with adiquate protection from team mates, the guy cutting can probably do the job farely quickly. There that solves the dilema.

I think ritual is just reverting back to the tried and true (read: boring and old) method of making action games with a linear mission based storyline/gameplay and a few gimmicks unique to the game (along with plenty that are not), and the counter-strike name. Gearbox was actually trying something different and look what happened to it? My judgments aren't written in stone seeing as I haven't played either game, but that's how i feel from my own personal observations.
Yes, I quite agree on that!!
