I wanted to clrify a couple things about the CS Server version 3.0.2.1



First, it's called CS Server INFO 3.0.2.1

This is not a CS Server. It is a program similar to HLSW and GameSpy.



The difference in this program is that after you install it, you point it to your Half Life directory and it populates the server list based on your favsvrs.dat file.



What is that file? Well, it's the list of your favorite servers from in game.



Also, this doesn't just work with CS servers, it should work with ALL HL Mod servers.



So, every time you update a server to your favorites list, weather or not it's in CS, NS or anyother mod, it will automatically show up in this program.



Of course you can manually add servers too.

Hmm, I'm still having frustrations with my server monitoring software (I use HLM). Namely, it seems to always forget which mod each server is running, to my frustration. I don't think CS Server Info really is what I'm looking for, though.

I'm quite content with the All-seeing Eye (ASE). Only flaw is the ping "prediction" (yes, I know it's not a "prediction" literally). When browsing the server list, it might show a ping of ~80 for a certain server, once I join the server, it turns out to be a ping of ~300. Arg. But maybe I should just try to get "a little closer" to the backbone (I'm playing from behind a router).

The ping is the actual ping to the server from your computer. If you are expieriencing a huge difference in game, it could be for several reasons.



1) Are you using a firewall program like Zone Alarm, Mcaffee Firewall?



2) What kind of video card do you have? If you are using high poly models and have an older video card, it will lag out your game.



3) Check and see what your "RATE" is set to in your config.cfg file. Set it to at least 5000. If it is set to 2000 or a low setting, it will cause a lot of choke and impeed your game play.

4) having a 56k adds to lag. Like me. Where i live, no cable. Oh dear. At least we have a lan cafe near us which i'll go to soon!

• another lan event for you guys. this time, longisland.com is hosting a 2 day event in forestville, ct. it's scheduled to run from february 22nd to the 23rd, and they'll be playing counter-strike, ut2k3, and bf1942. prizes will vary depending on attendance, but if you're in the connecticut area, check this lan out!

All good times must come to an end, and here we are. It was such a fun and exciting event, but now we must part ways. Farewell, brave souls.

the n0kiMOD staff is currently in the process of negotiations with xgs, apexsun, and gamedaemons for them to use n0kiMOD on their gaming servers. hopefully in the upcoming week, all of the clans using game servers from these companies will be able to experience the power of n0kiMOD.
