    HLIT v1.20 Released

Half-Life IRC Tool version 1.20 has been released. The new release offers some cool new features as well as some small bug fixes. In case you didn't know, HLIT is a Half-Life launching utility written in mIRC script. You can watch your favorite server while chatting with your cyberpals.[break="click here for the changelog!"]
    • added internal "desert crisis" support.

    • added internal "tour of duty" support.

    • added internal "the specialists" support.

    • added multiple irc server support. (messages/nickname changing) (thanks to shadowslayer for the suggestion.)

    • added a quick launch list, that can be used to join a server, at the touch of a button. (list is built everytime you close hlit.)

    • added a new "channel exclusion list", which will keep you from spamming certain channels with your notification messages. even selecting "notify all channels" will not send messages to certain channels.

    • added some more server duplication prevention code. (will stop duplicate servers when they are added by hostname now. sorry i missed this one.)

    • stopped hlit from flooding users off of irc servers if their channel notification is set to "notify selected channels", with more than about 8 channels selected.

    • fixed a bug that prevented servers from being added by hostname.

    • fixed the ipquery issue. /ipquery now works when hlit is not on.

    • sped up the moving of servers. (up/down buttons no longer have delays.)

    • cleaned up the passwords/launch info after a server is deleted.

    • added a launch counter, that keeps track of how many times you connect to each server. (for use in quick launch script)

    • modified the /ipquery alias, to avoid /ipquery to be run automatically the next time a server is refreshed, if the original /ipquery's dns lookup failed. (ip only)

    • added a /pquery alias, that reports the server info, just like /ipquery, but also displays the players online.

    • hlit will now automatically enter the configuration screen when you start hlit, if you have not specified your half-life location, or if your half-life location does not exist.

    • made the rcon window transfer control back to hlit when closed, using a shorter timer.

    • forced the rcon window closed if you click on another server.

    • fixed the auto update so that it will work with spaces in the mirc path.

    • made the passwords dialog use only one save button. (no more clicking a save button for each password.)

    • cleaned up the user interface a little.

    • cleaned up the hotlink code, that is called when you double click on an ip/ip:port.

    • option to auto-close hlit after returning from a game.
For more information and a download, check out the HLIT website. Thanks to FLeK0 for the submission.

No, it does not crash anymore. The crashing was due to a bug in mIRC v6.00-v6.02. This was actually fixed back in HLIT v1.18, as all newer versions require mIRC v6.03, which fixed the bug.

my HLiT works fine, but when i join a server from my HLiT list (after HLiT got updated to the new version) i get a "Error! Server Verification Failed!" msg when i try to join the server, that msg pops up right before the console screen would normally scroll up(meaning its done loading). any suggestions?? or is this a bug that only i am getting?? BTW, my prev. HLiT versions didnt do this.

I prefer the older version to be perfectly honest.

I'm not liking the new scope (I kinda liked the old 'low rider' one), and the model feels too short and stumpy to me. I think it should be a bit longer.

The 'standard' version is held at a weird angle for my liking (I'd perfer to see it a tiny bit more side-on), and the arms on that are very blocky and could do with being a bit more rounded.

The CZ arms one is just plain weird. I've never seen a model held at such an odd angle, with origins like that. Otherwise it's exactly the same as above.

The -X- animations one is... well I don't know what to call it, it's not just weird, it's plain messed up. The origins are horrible, the shoot animations are scarily exact, and the reload takes up half of your screen. So not good.

Overall I say go find the original version and use that instead. Frankly it's better IMO. And having said that, there's some much better G3/Sg-1 models out there which aren't based off of this one at all either. I'd say this is a good attempt but you should only use this if you try everything else and really can't find anything else that you like.

I like this... its well done, a little buggy as the review said, but overall a Class A replacement!
