    CV&G Previews CZ

Fresh out of the "we make annoying URLs department" comes a new CS: Condition Preview from Computer and Video Games. They removed the .com from their name because they wanted investments but I can assure you that they left the .com in their URL. Here's a tidbit from the preview:
"Each mission will have a main objective and minor sub-missions, some of these will be time-based," says Richard. "There will not be a timer, per se, but if certain objectives and sub-missions aren't completed before, for example, a bomb explodes, the scenario will fail. The mission will be considered a failure if you die, and you'll need to restart. Auto-save zones will be supplied based on testing."

Save zones? In Counter-Strike? Could be interesting. So how about some new mission objectives other than the standard rescue the hostages and defuse the bomb fare? "The single-player objectives will mimic the existing multiplayer gameplay styles, while adding a wide variety of single-player-oriented objectives inspired by movies and real life. Meanwhile, there will be no new multiplayer game types included with CZ - at least not at launch
So, is it worth your time? Well it's a pretty hefty read at four pages, which may be good or bad depending on whether or not you can read. It has plenty of VALVe/Ritual quotes and I'm sure you'll find out some new stuff. Yeah, it's sponge-worthy.

I know this is sort of an unrealted thing, but it says "Publisher: Vivendi"....

Is that, Valve's "Official" name, Vivendi? Jesus Christ I hope not!!!!!!

Ok, now that I take time to think, Valve i think is a co-developer, not publisher, but hell, i dunno!

Vivendi owned tons of software companies including Blizzard and Sierra.

I say owned because there are rumors that Microsoft just bought all of them from Vivendi, as they are looking to sell their video game departments.

Think of Vivendi as a parent company. AOL Time Warner is the parent company of CNN and such....

Valve isn't owned by anyone, they are independent. Sierra, the publisher of Valve's games (and CS: CZ), is owned by Vivendi.

There are rumors that Microsoft has bought Vivendi's games division which includes Blizzard and Sierra, etc. I doubt these rumors are true, but who knows?

Valve is independent? I thought they were either owned by sierra or on a contract.

Smart move by MS if they did buy Vivendi. Sierra and Blizzard. That's a powerful combination of gaming to say the least.

You should correct your headline it should be C&VG not CV&G!

Spoonman they're a big enough monopoly right now. Sure it'd be a smart move but.. I'll sue them.

It's all part of the master plan.

That was for the Gearbox version. The Ritual version is using modified HL grunt AI...
