I doubt YOU need ICQ installed for the Trojan to notify it's creator of your CD-Key.

How do they make their money? selling antivirus software - what happens when business is tight? they release a sodding virus to the web and seem to be the first ones that know exactly what it does. And that their "new version" protects against it....... ITS COS THEY WROTE IT MAN!Comment

Firstly, its highly illegal. Large companies dont like doing highly illegal things that could get them shutdown. Ever considered that the possible reason they know about it first is because they have dedicated labs to analyse this shit.
Common Sense, man..

Eh......rather counter productive to release a virus when your virus detection updates are free if you have a copy of their software....I'm using a copy several years old I got for $5 and I can still upgrade my virus definitions for free........so well scratch off your thoughts on Symantec releasing the virus for profit motivation.
Not to mention the free online virus scans that also detect it..Comment

why would you steal CD keys when you could just create new ones?
unless you wanted to stop legit people from playing CS. i thought the WON system just checked to see if your CD key was a "possible" number and not an actual number it has on a list somewhere as that would be too slow. look forward to thousands of uber-noobs from china/Nigeria and uzhackastan to be flooding CS while you get "CD key all ready in use".Comment

lol... someone in a server I was playin on.. Kept asking everyone for CD Keys... :P
Guru somethin... But I told him to go to Google.com and search him self...
Even if he did find another one, he would not beable to play online with it.... :)
