    Vivendi Update

NimoTh fired off a quick update to us about the Vivendi-Microsoft deal that may happen in the near future. Vivendi Universal, who you all may know owns the publishing rights to CS, Team Fortress, and Half-Life, is still intent on selling its games division. The fate of our beloved CS:CZ hangs in the balance. If Vivendi sells to Microsoft we may see yet another change in developers for it. Who knows...

Well, in my opinion, MS isn't filthy stinking rich for no reason at all. They know how to run their business, all things considered.

You have to wonder what a few of the AoE people might add to Blizzard, for instance. As far as CS:CZ, well, who knows. I somewhat doubt that MS would step in and halt the game from being released at this point in the cycle, but who knows.

Regardless, Steam, that creation that all of you seem to hate, may prevent VALVe from having as much future reliance on a publisher, no matter who that publisher is. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

I think if MS gets the rights to CS its going to be for the better. IMO MS seems to be a good judge of what the community wants in the games they buy. As for publishers changeing hands it probably will because MS has alot more efficient developers under its hood.

uhhhh microsoft sux0rs but...but its better than EA. If EA owned the game we would have to wait a minute before the menu appeared because of the damn logos you cant pass.

Microsloth steals ideas. They are the great pirates of the Digital Millenium, if you ask me. Or Steve Jobs. Or Xerox...

A few years ago someone wondered what a few of the Warcraft people might add to the fledgling AoE team, for instance.
