    Portland LAN

A whopping 500 people will attend a 4 day LAN party in Portland Oregon from July 3rd - 6th. Will you be one of them?
The event will giveaway hordes of door prizes, host several tournaments of all your favorite computer games, and provide you with unlimited soda pop for the duration of the entire event.
What else is there besides Counter-Strike? Stay up to date for their up and coming LAN on PDX's site.

I live an hour away... *drool* I wonder how much this will cost, though. Hmm, of course, in all probability, I'll have work Thu and Fri, church Sat, and Sun everything would be winding down regardless. Nice to see stuff in Oregon (instead of every West Coast LAN being in California for a change!), anyway. :)
            • This Lan will be a 48 hour LAN, after all who needs sleep?
Um... I'm guessing they just messed up there, as there's quite a few more hours than that in 4 days. :)

              damn.

too bad I live in FL (completely opposite of Oregeon), or I'd be there. The biggest LANs I've been to were 60-65 people, and I thought THOSE were big.

about the lan, I'm guessing there will be Ballz too, and probably a lot of bathrooms

I'm looking forward to watching this happen. It's amazing what been doing to get this going. Not to mention the fact that TPL needs PDXlan as a replacement. I hope to see as many of you there as possible! This is going to be one kick ass independence celebration.

Our sponsorships will be announced at http://www.pdxlan.com/sponsors.php keep looking there for updates. Yes, Bawls is a sponsor :-D

hehe, not much happens in FL, either. Ok, we DO have Armoury Assault, and that's an ok lan, but not much else.

Nope, this is not the TPL. Remember, TPL pulled out of the lan business. PDXlan is new system, new management. No Mariott this year..

Sweet, though it could do with some tweaks.

The model is very nice, though doesn't feel quite long enough to be an MK23 in-game, though that could just be because of the origins. Given the poly count of the main guns itself, adding a few polies to the silencer wouldn't have effected it much, but would have made it look nicer - as it is the silencer looks a tiny bit block in-game.

The skin lets the model down a bit. I'm really not a fan of the scratched and scuffed look except in some very rare cases, and this isn't one of those cases. It's just too scratched for my liking and annoys me. This is made worse by the way that the LAM unit (and it's not worth bothering with this model unless you use the LAM version really) isn't scratched at all, so it doesn't even carry a uniformed feel throughout the skin. The silver slide version is pretty horrible, with not nearly enough contrast to be called truly silver, no reflections on it either, and has a rather nasty blue-ish tint to it too. It also carries over the same nasty scratch/scuffed feel of the black.

The animations... well, you've seen 'em before. I personally am not a fan of them and would rather have the default animations. Not to mention the sounds you have to use are, yet again, not all that great.

Overall an alright go but not great. I'd suggest you just use either Ank&Thor's USP, one of the 'reissues' of Ank&Thor's, or the 'Ultimate USP' instead.

yeah, this is my all time favorite pistol, so I know a lot about it. I've been waiting for this gun to come out for 1.6 for a long time now, and i think it was wreath the wait... and yes, it is from MGS 1 and 2.

[gunnut]The Heckler and Koch Mark 23 Mod 0 is a cousin to the Heckler and Koch Universal Self Loading Pistol (or USP for short) The basic design is where the similarities end however. The Mk 23, or SOCOM as it has come to be known is the first pistol built on the premise that a sidearm can be used offensively. Most modern pistols where built with a defensive purpose in mind. The Mk. 23 is chambered in .45 Automatic Colt Pistol (45ACP for short) This is the preferred round given the superior knockdown power over the 9mm and .40s&w. The Mk. 23 is longer overall than the USP, even a tad longer than the USP Tactical. It features windage adjustable sights and a ambidextrous clip release and safety.[/gunnut] So there is all i know about the Mk. 23 Mod 0.

This is easily the best model/skin for this weapon yet, and ill be using it for next to forever

P.S. The anims are close to Jenn's deagle anims, but are much better IMO.... im not entirely fond of Urban Terror's scoring, but ill score this a 9 just because of all the time and effort put into it... And because Mk. 23's are leetsauce :P
