    UA Acquires HLStats

UnitedAdmins has recently acquired HLStats. HLStats is an excellent stats generator designed to work for all Half-Life mods. If you are interested in helping the team, this is for you.
We're currently building the team for this project, which will consist of Perl and PHP coders, documentation writers, and support members. If you're interested in helping out with this project, please register in the UA forums and send a PM to HoundDawg.
For all the server admins out there wishing to see some bug fixes, please post a reply in the forums. The complete press release is available on UA's site.

family computer, jeeze! everyone gets pissed when i change something, even if I go to a diff shell, everyone gets all bitchy.

back on topic. this isnt much of a suprise though, hlstats.org hasn't been updated since may 8th, 2002.

I always liked HLStats. Unlike Psychostats, HLStats stores its data in a database (MySql), which is a more efficient way and allows more "hacking" for particular porposes...

I've hacked up my HLstats stuff so much that I don't think it will be possible to upgrade. We've added time played to HLstats (check it out!), so unless UnitedAdmins can pull that off, I'll stick with what I've got.

HLstats has been stable for quite some time. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

would you like to submit you changes, or code as a whole?

I would like to see UA spend more time with HLGuard to stop all the cheats out there instead of acquring all these other things and trying to make a big production number out of it. And whoever thinks there aren't any cheats out there anymore obviously only play on one server or two.

I'd have to disagree, to a certain extent. I continue to hope that VALVe will get something better done with VAC, to disable some of the wallhacks and such. As far as this UA stuff goes, however, I don't see why they should have to be so bogged down by anti-cheat stuff that they can't do any other work for the CS community. I'm pretty glad to see stuff UA getting HLStats, really.

And yes, Steakeater, submit that code to UA, and make sure you mention that it's public domain. :)

If UnitedAdmins continues expanding its anti-cheat system it will eventually come to a crossroads between HLGuard & VAC and we all know who will win that battle (Answer). I believe UA understands this and has begun taking a more back road route with the Counter-Strike community by attempting to acquire all Counter-Strike related side utilities

Indeed, I chucked my code at HoundDawg in hopes of being part of the HLstats team. :)
