Half-Life Key Manager

unclefu, author of many great hl tools he doesn't update anymore, has released his half-life key manager. Unlike many other cd-key changers, this supports multi-keys which can be switched right from the system tray. It's hosted on CS-N's Fileplanet bandwidth.

Just wondering... why is CSN condoning such illegal activity? The only reason to switch CD key I can think of is because the illegal ones (found on the net) are not always reliable... and the program is needed to quickly switch to another one.



If the user is running a legal copy of CS/HL, there should be no reason to use Key.... unless... I am mistaken...

since when was it illegal to change your key? you're an idiot; this program can be very useful for lan centers, for instance. also works great for match players who have a specific wonid for matches.

you sir are a jackass... i have my key, my friends key (he no longer plays and gave it to me), another friend's key (same reason -- dirty EQ playing bastard).



it's a perfectly legit program, and i don't use stolen keys to scrim with.



i'd just rather know people won't know it's me playing in a pug or something.

Exactly. I have two CD-Keys, one from my CS-Retail, and one from Half Life (I ended up exchanging Blue Shift since it didn't work). I use one on here and the other on my laptop. I ended having the one CD Key in both of them before, but then I got my second CD Key and I got a changer program. These programs have been recongized by VALVe to not be cheats for these very reasons.

It's a pub, not a pug. A pug is a type of dog, where as a pub is a public server. Not a puglic server. I don't know why, but putting that twice just got on my nerves.

I forgot to respond to the actual news post. I don't see much use for this program for people other than cheaters. I'm not saying a few people will find it very useful, but the vast majority of people won't.



The mistake some people that have posted here made was saying that "omfg this program sucks wtf omg omg omg h4x" when they should have said "omfg this program sucks wtf omg omg omg h4x but some people might find it useful".



Finally, a sense of completion for my post.

I just think these programs are good for managing multiple cd keys. Sure, you could write them all down or have them in a text file, then edit your registry if you needed to change them. These programs simply speed up the process.

i have 3 keys this is why, i bought half life so i got my first CD key, then my cousin bought it for me for my birthday so that gives me a second CD key, my friend got half life and didn't like it so he sold it to me for $5 which included a CD key.



i think a program like this would help me quite a bit to switch threw my 3 CD keys.
