Although it is good to see some positive press about gaming for a change, I'm still of the mind that this "research" is a bit questionable. Counter-Strike players (on pubs, at least, which is a large majority of the userbase) are the most socially inept lot you'll find in the whole of online gaming, and I dare anyone to prove me wrong. I've come across a lot of nice folks over the years, but most C-S players are juvenile, rude, obnoxious, and lacking social skills in every way imaginable.

It's nice to see something written that doesn't follow the usual oh-hey-how-about-we-vilify-games crap usually printed by the media. I liked that aspect of it.



Of course, I don't think this professor has quite unraveled the "impenetrable" language used by gamers.



And, as always, anyone who gets upset enough to honestly, seriously contemplate physically harming someone over a game has something wrong with them.

I don't think pubbing has a positive effect on anyone really. However, prac/scrim/leauging with your team (preferably a stable one) can be very beneficial. Learning to work together and workout strats. Sup Frito, long itme no see, gg CFL. Oh yeah, and when I'm with people who I played CS with in real life, I say stuff like "gee gee" and "nub". Actually, all my freinds even the ones who don't play CS now say nub, of course they don;t know where it comes from...anyway.
