mailbag: adminmod

i want to care about an admin_mod mailbag, but am more curious if the recently releases (pirate) version of half life for dreamcast can have a basic version of CS added, so I can play CS thru the console. Complete wet dream, but pretty thought, tho.

my fav. thing to do as an admin is raise gravity to 99999 then watch the camping non-bomb plant'd bastard splat when they jump or go down a ramp. Oh yeah its also fun to make gravity negative then change it to 999999. But, if i really had my shit together i would take a feather from Philthy's cap & spawn heinous monsters from hl all around the poor sob not doing his job.

Unless I missed it no one mentioned admin_llama, on our server that's probably one of the most used. Sometimes we have a large petting zoo going on. You show a llama love by slapping it.



Llama's normally a kind of second warning for talking. The people who literally say "omg" "bullshit" "wtf" and everything else everytime they die no matter what the circumstances to their death were. Gets annoying after a while. So they get llama'd, then unllama'd, then they talk nonstop shit to the admins, then admin_execclient change their name, or make them say something.



Never actually tried to edit their config though, most serious things we'd do

admin_ban temp or perm

or admin_execclient <target> quit



Recently I played with

admin_execclient <Target> adjust_crosshair

hideradar

but that's for annoying fellow admins.



Thing we've talked about recently is to mess with people is to fuck with mouse sensitivity. Annoying, and I'm sure most CS players know what their setting is. But for us to do that would mean they pushed their luck far enough but we want to play with our prey instead of just banning them.



IMO, annoying them so they make the decision to never come back themselves is better than banning them, but that my opinion.



Sorry to make such a long post but forgot a couple:

admin_noclip <target> on. We sometimes do challenges, first guy to get a knife kill will get noclip, stuff like that.



admin_godmode <target> on. My favorite use of this comes in two fashions. Giving a known AFK player godmode while everyone else is fighting, on our server the commands are shown so it would say [er0c] $hrapnel187 turned godmode on <target> But while playing they seem to miss this message. All of the other team rush to that spawn to get the AFK kill and sometimes it's funny to watch, 3 guys will come in, first will shoot, 2nd thinks the first guy missed, so he goes for the kill. 3rd guy think the other guys are idiots so he shoots as well. Sometimes they don't catch on to fast. Then I normally slay the AFK. Not to funny? Guess you had to have been there.



The other way to use admin_godmode is just

admin_godmode <target>

with no on all it does is say they have had godmode disabled on them. I do this to a camper or when someone is all alone versus several enemies. Normally they just run out to their demise thinking they have godmode. One time I remember I did it to a friend, he ran out and won the round by only thinking he had godmode, confidence booster.



As for people saying bullshit and such all the time. I know of a few CS players who would stand next the bomb, get killed by it, and call that bullshit. They don't care how they die, even if it's a 8on1, they somehow think they should never die, they become llamas after a while.

Saturday nights we'd always do a little admin_disco for that Saturday Night Fever lovin'. :) Combine that with maps like de_vegas and a little ooga shacka, and you have some good times, heh.



I think admin_slap was probably my most used command though on our servers, back before the anti-awp plugin was made... warned people not to abuse the awp. If a team was getting raped, and got the awp out to try to turn the tide, no big deal. If "l337 5n1p4" is working on going 40-2 with his awp, he'd get slapped a LOT until he got the idea.



Had some good times with admin_psay, which I find more enjoyable against offensive campers (no problem with the D team camping), as they never have a clue that the admin screwed them over. :)



Ahhh well, the memories of being a server admin... heh, some fun, some thankless. There was one response that was missing from the mailbag this time, though...

I recently hit a random CS1.6b server where the admin (who, judging from voice comm, was around 11-12 years old) restarted the round every time he died. It was then that I realized I didn't want to be an online bot for a little ass to practice against, and left the server.
