Agreed. More strategy guides would definitely benefit this site, for everything from maps to weapons to general strategies. Something a little more complex than "use voice comm" and "listen for footsteps" as we should all know this by now. Not that everyone does, but those who don't are the people who aren't going to read the strategies anyway.

Physical attractiveness for guys is more heavily (though not entirely) based on physical form and fitness, and obviously most good CS players aren't going to be spending much time in the gym. He's pretty straightforward and honest, and that can definitely come across as egotistical. That's a bummer, I know how hard that is. In my case, I never seem to be able to sound humble. It's pretty hard to be humble when you're perfect, I guess.

I actually liked and agreed with most of your comments. The only difference in thought here is simply that very different networks would cover chess matches as opposed to CS matches. I can imagine the nature of CS (or some similar future game) being watchable to the TV population with rather short attention spans, where as 5 seconds of the same chess board and they're going to press channel up.
Having said that, I think that eSports could get TV coverage in the way that major billiards/snooker or chess matches get.
Anyway, once again, good interview, and best of luck to ascention. Of course, that's the same luck we wish to every clan that gets interviewed... :)Comment

I'd rather watch a CS match live on ESPN then that stupid World Series of Poker crap.
But ESPN only shows that stuff cuz the winner takes home a rather large sum of cash, somewhere around $3 million. Until eSports gets major sponsorships and prize money to rival other "sports" like poker, chess, pool, etc...I guess the TV coverage will have to wait
They should hold a eSports event in a Vegas casino. That way people who are old enough can place bets as well on their favorite teams.Comment

yeah that sounds about right to me. I'm chinese, and all the chinese girls i know are cs fans because of us chinese guys.

theres probably some subliminal message us asians are sending by training girls to be desensitized to death.

Thats the point... the specific athlete doesn't matter. The success enjoyed by any soccer player or pole-vaulter would subconsciously appeal to us, even if we don't know their name. Let me put it this way: Almost anyone who could keep their day job and also play for some professional sport league (NBA, NFL, etc...), and be half decent at it, would gladly do it. Not everyone who could do the same for the CPL would choose to. It is not part of our instincts.

Healthy emotional development indicates that our desire for physical dominance supersedes our desire to excel in virtual contests. The two should not be considered exclusive, however, and our stereotypes over such matters are the subject of constant challenge. Simply put, it is healthy for someone to play CS and occasionally kick the soccer ball around. It is not healthy for someone to play only CS to the exclusion of any other challenging physical activity.

Anyone who thinks video games should be considered as a sport are either a person who
A) somehow percieves an ability to make a profit off of it by marketing it as such
or
B) thinks they can bolster a self-image by thinking they are somehow more, or better than, the average game playing computer user.
Frank Nuncio or whoever runs "cal" and "cpl" is the type of guy that would try to sell you amway products...or start a pyramid scheme...
He finds people who are willing to contribute time and effort and money for next to nothing telling them "you are getting in on the ground floor of e-sports, when it gets big you will be rich!!"
Yeah, money for nothing, the American dream...
You're being used and deceived...easily, I might add.
People who race slot cars or remote control cars are as much of a race car driver as people who play CS are athletes.
If you want to be a lazy athelete and make stupid amounts of money, learn to Bowl...it's really easy, and a lot cheaper than computers.
Or hell, learn to throw darts....way more skill involved than comp games.
I realize everyone needs to do something to make themselves feel good about themselves...but working in a soup kitchen or some other volunteer work is infinately more rewarding, and the idols you look up to are REAL, not BBS avatars.Comment

First off, modelling. It's an old model which you've all (or at least should have all) seen before. It's alright stuff but feels a bit small in game - and yes I know MP5's are small in real life, but they're not this small. On this the guy's arms are bigger then the damn gun is. It's also pretty jagged with some nasty sharp corners, which given the 3001 poly count, could have at least been rounded off. Also, it's got one of those dman nasty stocks which seem to take up half your screen and look 100x wider then the rest of the gun. Stop with the natsy stocks, give us a purdy pull-out or fold-out stock instead.
The skin is alright, like the model you've probably seen it all before. Some of the textures (namely the nasty stock and foregrip) could do with some work, but overall it's fine stuff.
Animations are defaults, so nowt new there.
Overall, if for whatever reason you like ugly stocks and weaposn that look even weaker then they already are, go for this thing. Otherwise, you're frankly better off with something like this, or even like this.Comment
