Despite all the talk of the American turning of the tides at CPL the European teams like to point out they still secured 2nd, 3rd and 4th place. What do you think gives the European teams the edge over the Americans overall? Some commentators have said it's coming from their CO background which relied on fast co-ordinated rushes as opposed to the slow pickoff American style which tends to rely on outshooting your opponent. What are your thoughts?Read the rest here. Elude has a lot of insight on to CPL and CAL. I was most interested in his opinions on the CAL-Draft league, the league that gave him some fame and has since been unofficially retired.
tec|elude: If you look at the top 3 euro teams from Winter, they have all have had significant roster changes. With team9 dying and reforming, GoL and SK changing their roster a bit. With their top 3 changing lineups and America's top 3, 3D/zEx/WEW, having no or minor roster changes will be an advantage for us. I think their CO background helped them back in 1.3 when they dominated every US team at Winter 01 and Summer 02 CPLs, but with the slower play of 1.4 America is making a comeback.
