That what I thought too. People like ZIP and a few others don't think they should. :/
I commented on the superioriority complex you seem to exhibit when you complain about a bad update. I said, to put it in as simplest terms that you could understand, I would like to see you do a better job at coding a multigaming content delivery system as well as a gaming engine like Half-Life's.

Until you can, you have absolutely no room to talk.

Why does this always happen? They release an update. Next few days they have another update to fix the last update.

Why don't they have BETA tester for there update? They can maybe just test it themself...
This is what I said..... :/

[edit] Don't you think they should beta test there update?

No way man! So you have to code and create a game before making critics about an upcoming game like HL2 etc. on this site :)

It doesn't matter if he can or can't code a game. You see, there's a difference. We're paying VALVe, and when they break something, we have every right to complain because it's their responsibility to fix it and get it right the first time.

So where might this utopian society be where everything works perfectly the first time?

Nobody is complaining that things dont work perfectly the first time. The complaints are about things that were working, but later break.

It's like taking the car to the mechanic for a recall, and when he fixes whatever was wrong and needed a recall, he breaks your windshield wipers. Not very fun.

I am also a bit concerned that they are releasing updates to the beta after sending the RC. To me, this means the beta and the RC were in sync when it was sent, despite the fact that there are still some SERIOUS bugs in the beta.
So, when i wrote this, i hadn't seen the CS:S update today. Looks like they fixed some of the important ones (voice_ban.dt, hello) but i still dont see fixes for:

voice_enable 0 in cfg causes sound to not be properly initialized

muzzle flashes appear at feet of certain players (while NOT spectating)

                  floating weapons and inventory items

single shot from scout sometimes results in 3 bullets/100+ damage registering (NOT headshot)

From CSN or Steam? If it's CSN, no biggy, wont be the first time. If it's Steam, I just highly doubt it. I have three acounts plus the one I use to play CS:S for free, and I will also be using it to play HL2 for free. :]

Uhh, so, the point of steam is so they can release updates quickly, but that doesn't negate the need for testing.

Remember when they released updates that made DX unusable for HL1 users?

And the latest update breaking custom content, etc.

I am not trying to dog valve; i think they do a good job. But i am not convinced they have figured out how much testing they ought to do prior to releasing something over steam. Bugs happen, but their quality gate for releasing something seems a bit low.

omg... the issues have been fixed... Now, then, what's the problem? Atleast we're ensured that Valve would actually realize their mistakes and stomp them out within few days.

As for myself, I'm not even gunna question about the way Valve's been patching up their games. As a matter of fact, Valve update their games more then any other developer does... Atleast from what I've heard and seen.

And as for the "serious" bugs still being in the CS:S beta even after the RC was sent, Valve can easily counter them after the game's release.... I don't think that's going to be much of a problem...

They added Japanese language support to Steam, but if you load the game everything is either English or question marks.

                          I can read Japanese, but I don't understand ?????.

                          Annoying.

You must have the Japanese Language Pack installed with WIndows XP to view Japanese characters.

I do have a Japanese language pack.

Maybe there is another one, like some sort of 'official language pack'?

I can view 50% of Japanese web pages and I can use Japanese characters in Word.

And all steam windows outside of games have Japanese text.

Well, the modelling good, but nothign special frankly. It reaches the same standard as basically every other model that comes out nowadays. That's not to say that it's a bad thing, just that there's nothing about the model that screams out at you "use me now, I'm like nothing you've ever seen before!".

I'm not liking the skin. Too dark for my tastes, plus it's tinted which I despise. It could also do with a bit more contrats on it - go break out the burn and dodge tools lads. It's also slightly misaligned.

The animations are okay, except you can see right through the gun on the draw, though I'm willing to let that go since at least is held one-handed which makes a nice change from the stupid two-handed machine-pistol animations that everyone is used to.

Overall it's pretty nice, but isn't as good as some of the others here. Go use the Mac-10 from yesterday.
