Don't hold your breath. Expect 1.5 Gig with GeForce4 to be running at or slightly higher than 30fps. Just an estimate on my part there.

Min requirements is like a dx 6 video card and a 700mhz machine. He should be fine.

woot only 255 of us are using xp SP 2 v. 2082. Btw service pack 2 is very awesome for xp and its only beta right now!

Ya, since steam its been a revolving door. The fixes cause bugs and the bugs cause fixes...

I've just reinstalled Steam yesterday and when I tried to start CS it asked me for a validation code which should have come via email. I still haven't received this email more than 12 hours later thus leaving me unable to play CS or any other Steam game. And the only reason why I reinstalled Steam was because the ingame movement was totally awkward, like skating on ice (to make a long story short, I installed XP yesterday after using Win2K for quite some time now just to try it out. First thing I noticed while playing CS under XP was that my mouse movement was totally off so I tried several of the fixes like the noforcemaccel, reg editing and this mparam.exe thing to no avail. So I changed everything back to normal [removed the launch parameters, changed reg back to normal] and suddenly I started to skate in CS. Really really annoying. Then I reinstalled Steam and it ended with asking me for the validation code). Just had to write that down.

Next laggy time check your steam inet/rate settings before reinstalling it. You can get the mail faster in the settings menu, click on the verify email address button, that will send it in 15 minutes.
