With every update, Steam gets WORSE

LOL Phrozen, you are an ass. If they have lives then why even bother with this site? Huh? I think you should just step back into the shadows and shut up.

Because they care about the community, and making sure people get the news they need. They try as hard as they can.

What gives you the right to critique what they do? Nothing. All you can do is write comments about how the news system sucks. If you already had it, then why didn't you submit the update. FLeK0 did.

Thanks phr0z3n, it's nice to have someone appreciate those who try to help out instead of endlessly criticizing. :)

Anyway, v7 made Friends work for me again, so that's cool. Can't wait for the next CS update though. :)

Solitude, I think you got owned.

Sure, Steam may have had some bugs after updates, but overall I haven't had much problems anymore.

I have a comment... Why can't Erik Johnson just stop creating new updates for the already shitty CS 1.6 Beta and come out with the Offical CS 1.6, without creating some sort of bogass shit hoax?

Please what kind of shit is this Erik?

Stealth_Sniper: Steam v2 is about the best new program that they created, it is very fast, very good for communication (Friends) and very easy to find servers, minimize, etc. It is the best thing that could happen to Half-Life (maybe excluding the CS:CZ stuff) because it is fast, and it is going to be free for those of us who own a CD Key.

Oh, and if you think it sucks, don't play it, touch it, don't read about, etc.

well now that i'm looking at what i read about an hr or two ago... yeah i like it but it just seems that erik has been playin with his balls and not really paying attention to dates or anything. I know that Steam released it as a quick get it out program and get used the feeling for cs-cz but still it seems that the cs-community has been going though a lot of waiting and upsets for the next Offical Version...

sry about what i said before but really i think valuE and Gearbox really need to think about what there doing or else there going to start losing thousands of players due to lack of next version releasement...

Way to show what you're talking about idiot.

Know why they haven't made an official release? Because they're ironing out the bugs. All the major ones. So why don't we just release a largely buggy piece of software to the public and call it a final release, forcing people to often upgrade? (sounds like MS, heh.) BETA software is so people can test it out and tell the developers what's wrong. I think it's a good idea they're letting people test.

                        Summed up, quiet you.

When it's ready. Give it some time, these things take a while. I'll admit, it has been a while, but let's just hope it's for the best.

Who am I kidding, I have the beta anyway.

                                All those complainers should die.

You just sit on your damp hairy ass and complain about what Valve is doing wrong while they really are working their asses off to get us "the best update to counter-strike ever made" ready and pretty damn much bugless. Who gives you the right to critisize them anyways? Have you ever put in any effort to contribute to the community? No? Why don't you shut the fuck up then!?

You only enjoy playing Counter-Strike and don't even nearly realize how much work there is behind a game - especially one that requires updates from time to time and that is easily and TRULY celebrated as the most successful multiplayer FPS of all time.

                                Then Stealth_Sniper, look at this:
but still it seems that the cs-community has been going though a lot of waiting and upsets for the next Offical Version...
Your words. This sentence and simply the rest of your writing-style in that post show how much of a complete idiot you are. Do you honestly think Counter-Strike will lose thousands of players just because of this update delay? You seem to not have a CLUE about counter-strike fanaticism (hehe). NOONE who is currently playing CS will stop playing it because 1.6 was delayed. NOONE.

The only reason people might stop is after 1.6 is released and they don't like the changes... and I don't think that's gonna happen a lot, really because 1.6 looks sweet and nothing but that!

And last: Keep in mind that it was never Valve's fault; the whole 1.6b release mess/chaos was not their fault. They had never officially released Steam Beta. If my memory is not making fun of me then I think someone at CSNation leeched the file without knowing that Valve hadn't released the file yet and that's how it spread around the globe in hours and thousands of people got it. They weren't prepared for what happened and... they weren't supposed to be either. So far they did everything right even though the Steam release was delayed a couple times. You should know by now that the game-industry simply isn't one that's ON TIME. Happens all the time, those delays.

I personally lost my aggressive interest in 1.6 after that fiasco. I am still very much looking forward to downloading the official 1.6 and celebrating a new counter-strike... but my attitude changed to "whenever it comes, fine."

                                Enjoy

                                PS

I've never really had problems with Steam except for a few lockups at connecting to server at "validation". BUt that's about it. The new VGUI is simply breathtakingly COOL and the console rocks and... I mean I can't remember any negative points!! VERY VERY nice job.
