Anyway, this pisses me off. Some of us had fully working custom stuff before this update, now because some of ya'll couldn't get it to work right, we've had our loverly custom sounds taken away. Grr.
This is yet more support for my idea that when an update goes out, you should have the option to update or not. Like with most software, a simple "an update is available, update y/n?" sort of screen. Then I'd be able to have all my stuff working. This is the second time Valve have screwed CS up for me.Comment

You can't play CS offline.
You must be the latest version to play across Steam/online. Only if you had a LAN would you have the option to not patch - in which case you're not connected to Steam and don't get the patch anyway.
Sure, go ahead and click "don't patch me". And proceed to not be able to find any servers of the version you're playing - servers update automatically.Comment

They always amaze me when they broke a thing with the update, but don't understand a shit to their own update so they have to disable something rather than rolling out or fixing the update.

yea, id play CS:S but in order to do that id have to:
a. buy CS:CZ, which i wont do because the game is pointless in so many ways
b. wait for HL2 to be released after possibly being pushed back again...ITS been a full year alrdy i beleive. I think i still have it preordered too, lol... for sept 30th of last year... GRRRComment
