CS 1.6 BETA 3/3/03

The problem with third person is even if you can't see through you, strafing left/right opens up corner between legs/arms that allows you to see/aim and all you really have to do is strafe left/right continuously.. plenty of people did this and yes third person was removed a few versions ago, I think with another patch though it came back but forgotten by most people, hopefully its gone for good now, and no you must execute some commands that don't take affect until you connect to a server to switch between first and second view.

Valve inigrated those buy commands into 1.6. Buy scripts can be made more reliable and faster now. Just replace (in your alais's in your autoexec.cfg) the (buyequip; msg1) or whatever part of your old by sripts w/ the appropriate command like hegren.

Ok, now on to my problem. Every time I toggle my console off in 1.6 the console goes away but I am immediately killed (as if I had typed kill in console.) I already checked my config.cfg to see if an evil admin had f***ed me and it is normal (something like bind "~" "toggleconsole"). Anybody else have this problem or know how to fix it?

if you dont want it to download TFC content, unsubscribe from it. I'm only subscribed to CS, cause thats all i want :)

There is also this other bug in 1.6where your computer would freeze up if u would spectate someone experiencing major lag. The sound would play over and over again like a broken record and cs wouldnt close. The only known solution is to restart your computer *sigh* that sure suxors!

That is half life being unstable it alwaqys happens to remove and reinstall it will go away.



As for 3rd person... It is considered a cheat by all gaming leagues... sure you can't aim as well but being able to loko around corners is a hugh bonus... plus uf you use the shotty the aim thing is not as bad

I'm glad they fixed the thirdperson cheat once again. I guess I can post specifics now. Basically, you'd enter these lines in the console.

Which would apparently work for a few versions of 1.6b. I didn't ever try it personally, but it seemed to come up a lot in conversations amongst other players while I was playing. Makes me wonder, was/is there a cam_idealpitch or something like that which would have allowed you to see over yourself, and thus be able to aim a bit better? Regardless, it's gone, which is good.

There are some downsides to having the T's see the bomb after it is planted.



i.e. take this situation. The bomb is planted in dust2's B bombsite beside a green crate. The ct begins to defuse. The last remaining T is coming to the site from middle. Now even if he didnt see the bomb planted, he can see it on radar. Thus he can shoot through the walls surrounding the B site and kill the defuser.



It good for the most part, but some situations like that will be an annoyance.

If he's close enough to shoot the guy through the walls, he can probably hear the beeping of the bomb anyway, whether the radar is there or not. And if he's good enough to kill him through the walls in the first place, I don't think the radar would have much of an affect on the situation at all.
