I think that siege is a little more unbalanced than assault, since the hostage room only has two ways to get in if the T's camp the garage like they always do. Assault has 3 ways to get in.

I usually just auto asign myself, but CT is so much more fun. Of course I'm the CS master and I don't need to worry about what team I'm on.
About the new poll, I chose Assault, because everyone knows camping T's have the advantage in that map. But it sorta balances out, because all the people who want the challenge go CT. Over a long period of time, the team scores seem to be about even, and maybe even the best (save dust, which is always 50-50).Comment

The reason I'd say Assault is more poorly balanced than Siege is the garage door. T's have the advantage of height, and with the line-of-sight properties being what they are, terrorists can see the CT's feet before the CT's can see anything of the T's. Additionally, there is cover and/or dark places to take advantage of as a T, where as the CT's really have no cover when they try to enter this way. This leads to a lot of CT's getting shot through walls by enemies who they can't see.
Siege can be pretty bad with a few good T awpers. However, T's and CT's have an essentially equal opportunity of seeing each other. One or two agressive CT awpers have a good chance of clearing out the enemy snipers and any foolish stragglers, and then it's up to the riflemen to do the cleanup operation.
Either way, I still like both of those maps. The only one on the list I don't particularly like is 747, but that's not for reasons of being unbalanced.Comment

Yeah absolutely...all things being equal, there should be no way in hell the CT team should win on either map.

Of course, the teams are rarely equal on the average server.Comment
