CSX: Excitement!

Ed Fries, head of Microsoft Game Studios (think Xbox), has been interviewed over on Xbox.IGN.com. Counter-Strike for Xbox (CSX) is mentioned only in passing, but it's the first pulse we've heard in a while for this Xbox Live title.

IGN: Nonetheless, this move takes a big Xbox Live game and moves it further into the future. Does this mean we can expect an announcement of another premier Xbox Live title to replace Halo 2 this Christmas?



Fries: We are going to announce some games at E3 that haven't been announced before that should be for Holiday, some of which support Xbox Live, some of which don't. I can tell you one game that people are excited about and that's Counter-Strike. That's going to be a big.

As long as their auto aim is turned off I would love to whip up on some x-box players for LOL's if it is made compatiable online w/ the pc version.

If the gameplay is anything like Halo, it will be awesome. Also, there BETTER be options that let you edit your sensitivity, buttons, etc..

When I first heard about it, I chuckled a bit and thought that there was no way CS could ever be fun on a console, but once i played Halo, I changed my mind. Then again, they could fuck up and make it like Ghost Recon, in which case I will throw a hissy fit.

i still cant imagine playing CS with a controller. i know people who have used a joystick and thats reasonable, but not a controler. i think the only advantage is that everyone will be equal in terms of system specs.

for the nth time...csx and cs 1.x will NOT be compatible...the pc version of cs is through won



csx is through xbox live



p.s. - not only will cs be live compatible, im pretty sure there will be a single version in which will most likely be a modified cs:cz? but dont quote me on that, its just an accurate prediction...

imho, FPS games on the console just cant compare to fps on pc. Yes, halo is fun, so was goldeneye, but just imagine what halo will be like on the pc?



10x better I think.



When a console comes standard w/ a keyboard-mouse and I have a TV/screen that goes up to higher resolutions, I may change my mind.
