• unitedadmins seems to be having a few problems with its latest release of cheating-death. according to the ua forums the newest c-d causes detection to class 3dfx, ati, and some geforce drivers as `modification` (c-d codes 32 and 33). basically you get falsely banned. thanks flek0!
  
  
  
  
• midway from gotfrag has made an extensive preview into the upcoming cal-invite finals match between 3d and wew. he lists 5 keys needed for each team's success and also looks at the past strats used on the map and each team's respective successes and failures on it. check it out the preview at gotfrag. thanks alpha-!
  
  
  
  
• unfortunately there will be no hltv for the cal-i counter-strike final match between 3d and wew. however, this is still an alternative. team sportscast network will be covering the event. all you need is winamp to catch the pregame at 9pm est and the match starting at 10.
  
  
  
  
• mtv's true life: i'm a gamer with "fatality" is on tonight at 10pm est. it should be an interesting 60 minute documentary. thanks tsop!

This all goes to show that you should only play on servers with both VAC and HLG, and no other cheat detection methods.

as far as the providers are concerned, this is probably a good thing. the HUGE amount of bandwidth to show a hltv match is expensive. they were gonna host the demo anyway. although there will prolly be a bigger demand for the demo, it wont be as big as the hltv demand, people will already know the score. i'm gonna watch the scorebot.
