Thorin, from Gamers.nu, had a chance to sit down and chat with Justin "sunman" Summy from American clan zEx. I found the interview more interesting than scouring through a dictionary on a Friday night. Actually, it was a pleasant, informative interview and was conducted very well. It talks about zEx's undefeated CAL-i season, wins over Euro clans at the CPL, the next big American clans, and Jayden running around naked. Here's my favorite question:
zEx has come under a lot of criticism online both before CPL Winter and after it. Before a lot of people were calling you "online superstars" insinuating you would flunk on LAN and just configged to victory online. After your undefeated CALi season people are now saying it doesn't mean as much as past undefeateds since you didn't play WEW or 3D. zEx|sunman: The config title you have to live with until you do well on LAN. I think that was over my head more than anyone else on zEx till after CPL. Kinda funny how people go from calling you cheats/config, to asking you to sign their mousepad in a few days. Looking back on our season, we had a decent ride without many clans giving us any trouble most of the season. We had planned to play 3D in the season which they forfieted. Not too many clans can compete as well as they used to, it's like the few top CAL-i teams are on a different level, and unless those clans play each other, you pretty much know the outcome of most matches.
