• gotfrag has updated its clan rankings page. shockingly enough, peace protesters still aren't the number one clan in europe.

Interesting news in the last few days:

• unknown clan a-laget beat established mtw.se at the wcg sweden qualifier finals. a-laget translates to a-team. demos are here on sogamed. they'll be traveling to korea for the for final match, along with other teams from around the world. the us wcg qualifier finals will be held next month in new york, after this weekend's pre-qualifier qualifier matches are decided in georgia.
  
  
  
  
• gol, which came in second place at the last cpl event, has quit online play, according to their website. this follows hyb leaving the clan to join sk.sca. which is odd, because i recall gol going inactive before hyb quit. is this redundant news, or what? thanks to gamers.nu for the info.
  
  
  
  
• the cyberathlete professional league has decided that windows xp will not be used in the cs tournament this december. xp, however, will be the os of the cpl starting 2003. xp will be used for the ut2003 tourney, which still has no official format.
  
  
  
  
• in other cpl news, the dates for the 2003 events have been decided upon. summer: jul 30 - aug 3, 2003; winter: dec 16 - dec 20, 2003. the spring event (in la) will take place during e3, and the fall event's locations and dates are to be announced. summer and winter events will take place in dallas.
  
  
  
  
• domain of games has posted loads of skill movies in the last few days, check 'em out.

Apparently our esports guys are hunched over a shot glass due to all the excitement they experienced during the CPL, so I doubt there'll be any CAL-I coverage tonight either. To make up for our extreme failures, be sure to check out ShackES and Domain Of Games as the night goes on.

Some big news has been circulating in the Counter-Strike eSports community recently:

• Four ninjas from the newly-reformed NiP have quit the Sweden-based team. Hyper, Vilden, SpawN, and ahl have all left the clan. HeatoN and Potti are the only remaining members of NiP. Gotfrag has interviewed HeatoN about the controversy.
  
  
  
  
• The World CPL Tour has landed in Brazil. Gotfrag and Amped eSports have excellent coverage of the CPL event.
