CAL Cancels Qualifier

To the dismay of many of its fans, CAL has decided to cancel their online qualifier for the Counter-Strike Summer Championship. Unfortunately, the scheduling of the tournament conflicted with lots of other events and things CAL and the CPL wanted to do. There is no word if the event will be rescheduled or not.



And I was the front runner for that $60,000 grand prize too. Well, back to working at McDonald's for me.[break="CAL e-mail"]

The Cyberathlete Amateur League (CAL) announced today the cancellation of its online qualifier for the $200,000 Counter-Strike Summer Championship. Although the community expressed interest in the qualifier, the scheduling of the tournament conflicted with a number of other initiatives lead by CAL and CPL.

wow.....thats stupid, so what if a cheater qualifies, you cant exactly get away with cheating at the cpl. i mean if i cheated i would be afraid 25,000 fat nerds would try to kill me.



o well i guess it is just to protect clans that "cheaters" might beat from losing out unfairly.
