Last LAN I was at I had a fit trying to get used to a some what normal posture when gaming. I play real sloppy otherwise; keyboard resting on beer gut, mouse running along the side of chair, floor, armrest, or where ever there is surface.

I'd just like anyone interested in attending the Gathering 2003 to know this: The Gathering 2002 sucked. Yes, I was there, yes I was there last year, and yes, I was there the year before that. When the admins discover that information about events actually can be relayed not just through a non-working electronic bill-board, but also through the microphone they used over and over to let the good people who forgot to turn off their car's headlights know about it, maybe, just maybe, the children, too young to even be interested in girls, will be told to find somewhere else to go during their Easter holiday by the admins.

And maybe people will hand in quality submissions for the Wild- and Demo compo as well.

This will of course never happen, but I guess every man is allowed to dream.

Ah, the thrill of playing on LAN. No lag, great competition, and if that one pimply faced preteen calls you a hacker, you can punch him in the face.

• to start the show off, we're helping announce the biggest lan on the east coast! millionmanlan is open for registration and filling fast, so be sure to sign up soon. they're boasting room for over 1,500 people, which to me sounds like a big number! the lan will kick off on june 26th and run until the 29th. if you're in the kentucky area, be sure to check this one out.
  
  
  
  
• cyberjocks are hosting their own cs tournament, with $2,500 in prizes. they're looking for 20 teams to sign up, so get a group of your pals together and go fraggin'. the tourney will run over the memorial day weekend (may 23rd-may 26th). for more information, click here.
  
  
  
  
• xtremelan is currently accepting registrants for their upcoming june lan. they're offering several tournaments for all shapes and sizes and whatnot. if you're a crazy canuck, try xtremelan out.

Personally, I like smaller, 8-person lans more than larger ones. You lose the feeling of knowing everybody when you invite more people.
