I'm seeing more and more hacks lately so this may be the way to go unless valve kicks it up a notch with VAC.

The most important thing is for all CD servers to ALWAYS have "CD-required" in the server name. Sounds obvious but it doesn't always happen.
As for:StoRmNaRF wrote..
Seeing as at least 95% of CS play is on public servers I don't think this is a very viable anti-cheat mechanism.

no i know a cheater from a non cheater. 4 seasons of CAL and 3 years of CS i think i can tell the difference. I have spotted 3-4 obvious hackers in the past week alone. that's up from a big wopping "0" a couple months ago. there is a new hack out that lets you use ANY cheat on VAC servers, detected or not it gets around VAC.
laff, i personally do not think cheating-death works because i've used it and its just like punkbuster...gg...if you think you are seeign more cheats it probbly that your getting worse :P

I've finally switched my public server over to Cheating-Death. Despite the people who can't figure out how to use it ("Okay, I put the files in my Program Files directory and started CS, but I still have this [No C-D] tag. What? I have to START the program?") and those who despise the program ("I'm not running any anti-cheat software because VAC is the absolute shiznit and I am a technophobe!"), I'm quite happy with it.
The auto-update of the client software is a welcome addition to the program.Comment

You really shouldn't mention that last part, it gets people wondering about you.
