For some reason we got a jumble of Esports submissions all at once. Hey I guess that could be because CAL-i just started! HEHE!
    • eolithic has issued a major announcement. gotfrag (what's with all the capitalizations in the middle of names?) landed the press release and posted that they've departed esu and landed a major sponsorship with gameonline.

    • team nerve has announced that they've created a full-time office in vancouver that will take the title of the world's first counter-strike training facility.

    • the cal-draft is now over. in related news, cal recently announced that any player in the draft must only be in the draft. that's big news, if you ask me. the draft for next season was held last night, matches begin tuesday.

    • cal-m clan rdw (#rdw on irc.gamesnet.net) is having a giveaway in their irc channel. prizes include mice, mousepads, and other related items. i recommend mirc if you're going to be participating.

    • domain of games scored a statement from tuf regarding their recent breakup. to sum up, they didn't want to move on without the members that earned them the spot they got to. in light of this breakup, cal-m clan est was bumped up to invite.
That should give you your fill for now, eh?

Did you miss them? Are you still faithful? Awoken from a slumber, the bits are finally back!
    • true gamers league is now in session. the organization has promised they have organized and focused more attention to gamers. tgl is an ideal league for offseason sessions of cal and ugs, as currently counter-strike is the only division available thus far. lastly, they do not allow the use of the shield in matches. if you're interested, click here for the full details.

    • zex has started their own internet shop with a modest selection, and a fantastic line of t-shirts to make you mr. popular at your very own school. act now and get a $5 rebate on their official mousepad via pre-order, so get going young grasshopper!

    • csports.net has an updated cpl rank list for view. however, many expected clans are not on the list partly due to the system csports.net uses. regardless, the list is interesting to see and aren't you dying to see who came out on top?
That concludes another session of newsbits. Here, have a toothpick and a crippling final check for them all.

Counter-strike training facility? What's next, simulations of CAL games with real guns on a carefully molded environment?

                hahahahah

That is definitely NOT the "world's first counterstrike facility"

There have been such things around in Scandinavia for ages.

                For example, in Denmark:

A clan named Heroism has it's own facility where they play LAN constantly, it is available for them day and night, 24/7. They have had this "lan center" for over 1 year now.

Furthermore, cafe clans such as Game Online in sweden or danish Yakuza can play from their cafes at any point. If they decide to go play at 3am in the night they can do so.

Conclusion: Definitely not the world's first training facility

You're missing the concept. They train people, they don't open it for people to play.

A lan setup is not a training center, that is playing the game. In the same way that flying a plane alot is not "training" it is acutally doing the flying you train in a simulator to do.

A cs simulator would involve a simulation of a computer (an apple - ha), a simulation of the game (cnn's live coverage of the war), simulated drugs (asprin and exlax), simulated eyestrain (some kind of pully system with wires to your eyeballs), simulated hackers (some poo in the corner of the room), and of course, simulated girlfriends (perhaps a small turbine that whines constantly behind your head).

More importantly, the Training Center will be slowly developed as a competitive gaming training center, where established pro gamers will conduct workshops and mini-classes for gamers wanting to improve their skills.
Now, you see, if you had read the link before you started talking, you wouldn't have made a jackass of yourself.

                        Way to go jackass.
