thor that was retarded and useless. Vanilla coke tastes like creme soda and is just a toned down version of the hardass coca cola classic. Overall I it's easy to just say that competitive gameplay is for those who want to squeez more out of their cs experience.

i personally think its good that not just athletically prone people or people who were born with big bodies and stuff are able to play against eachother and win money and everything else. although i doubt it will ever be something that is broadcast on national television, i find it more exciting then watching a Poll tourney.

Great new feature to add to CS nation. Need to pick a topic you disagree more strongly on however. For the most part you both attacked Bowdens article and opinions only differed on how the game can be enjoyed, and Vanilla coke. (Which I might add, in diet form, is basically crack). How about point counterpoint on what level of realism CS should retain (see that whole iceworld discussion) or something..

I personally have enjoyed competitive gameplay. But not for prizes, not for winning, not for fame, just for FUN. Some people take it way too far. The leaders of my last clan were among those, and I left. The clan ended up disbanding right after I left - it was reformed though. Now they have one goal and that is winning. They even state so on their website. My question is, why? Why do you HAVE to win? Will it make you a better person? Look good on your resume perhaps? Its senseless IMO.

I prefer "Gun Running", same shit, different shit.
I think this sums it up in a nice, tidy little package.

The poll needs another option for people who like the ideas of competitive CS but lack the time to be involved.

That was a freaking awesome read, best one I've had so far on csnation.
In the same sense, I don't think it can be said that running around on a public server calling everyone a homosexual and spamming HE grenades is a "real" CS experience.
Its hilarious cause its true hahaha. But truly, there is no other cs exp than this

yea every time I say fag I cant stop rofflin. no matter how many times it is said it's just so funny! I bet it really hurts the person who I tell it to and they cry themselves to sleep while slitting their wrists and reflecting on why you called them a fag.

Yes it's our policy not to publish rumors like that, when they're obviously false.

Living where I do, and having the ping i do, no CS clan will really have anything to do with me so i can't really comment on the idea. But my Quake 2 clan lasted almost as long as my high school career and it really added to the experience, it's always better to play someone you can talk crap with about the game on irc afterward. Clans make the CS community a real community, instead of just a bunch of people who find the word 'llama' funny.

As for the esports thing, well the koreans are just weird tbh, anyone who plays StarCraft like that has spent too much time with their kerrigan posters, so I'm disinclined to take games seriously as a professional thing. It just strikes me as weird, surely playing enough to make a living at CS would make it so dull you wouldn't enjoy it anymore, removing the point of playing it all? And you guys are so right about being distracted by other games, but it's just how you prioritise stuff.

Last and least, vanilla coke is rank, but the adds are cool. Tip : never buy pepsi blue. That is all.

"But the real point is that Vanilla Coke is better than normal Coke Cola since normal Coke burns my mouth as if it was Saddam's final torture device." good point! I agree totally
