CAL-i 2:1 Predictions

A new week, a new map. I see a couple of promising games, so let's delve into it, eh?[break="Click!"]This weeks map is the always entertaining de_train.



Echo 7 vs 3D

Last season e7 drove 3D into overtime in a game where 3D had the team manager playing. 3D managed to triumph in that match with Rambo getting two knife kills in overtime to seal the deal. The question is, will 3D triumph again? E7 is sporting a new roster that has proved strong in scrims, but it's well known that when it's time for it to count 3D doesn't play around. 3D was knocked out of Clikarena early though, in a dismal showing for their first European LAN. Hopefully they'll get more settled as time goes on. I still think they outplay E7.

Pinnacle vs The Unreal

The Unreal so far hasn't really impressed me, though they certainly get their fair share of hype. Pinnacle's stability has kept me interested in them, and while they dropped a game to E7 I think they have what it takes to beat a new team in The Unreal.

Excess vs Hicks With Sticks

ExS has been known to push a tight game, while [hs] has just been hanging around invite and winning a game here and there. ExS pushed E7 to the limit last game and it looks like they'll have no trouble walking over the 0-2 [hs].

dictators 0f fate vs Texas Area Untouchables

TAU is shaping up to be the powerhouse they were in the past and I'm insanely happy. TAU used to be a favorite team of mine - not filled to the brim with superstars like 3D, but able to pull out upsets and win games and astonish everyone. With sladek back in action and the old roster looking as strong as ever, I don't see d0f winning quite yet.

art of eXecution vs MurK

So the question on everyones mind -- was MurK's win over zEx a fluke or are they going to prove a powerhouse this season? I'm inclined to lean towards the former, as their pings are just not stable enough to hold their game in the highest regard. With that in mind, I'm not counting them out against aoX. aoX is a good deal weaker than they used to be and while I'd like to hand them a game with MurK pulling off their upset on zEx I should hope they could continue the streak and defeat aoX. This game could probably go either way though.

Legends vs The unknown Factor

Forfeit if LgD is faced against the dead TuF. However, isn't EST taking TuF's schedule? Not sure.



xeno vs zEx

THIS is a match I've been waiting for. I called it before that I think xeno will be a sensation this season and this match will definitely prove whether they're hot or not. If you recall, xeno defeated zEx 14-10 in the preseason on de_cpl_fire. The obvious factors of this are that perhaps zEx didn't practice and perhaps xeno did. Either way, it's no easy feat to just defeat zEx. I'm looking forward to this game and if xeno can put up 9 rounds then I'm quite sure they'll be heading to the playoffs this season. My money is, strangely enough, on xeno to win, but most people will take the zEx prediction. Sometimes you have to go out on a limb, my friends.

gsx.tx vs Green Berets

Gamesimplex vs the Green Berets. GSX is still new to the game compared to a strong team in GB who is currently 2-0. I'd liken this game to GB but wouldn't lose any sleep if GSX upset them.

Biodegradable Heroes vs TEC

Surely a match to watch. TEC has been an upper-level team since last season and BiO has had their stuff together up until last week when they lost to lower-level team shockwave. So is BiO slipping or was shock just better? Either way I see TEC taking this game without too much of a problem.

THE STOMPING GROUNDS vs shockwave

Hoo-boy, let's see. I could go with shockwave given they've surprised many by starting the season 2-0...or I could go with TSG who has been on the rise for awhile now. As much as I love you TSG I'm going to go out on another limb and pull for shock on this one.

Gamers-X vs WeekEnd Warriors

Ah, a classic rivalry. Last season GX beat WEW every time in the regular season, but when it came down to playoffs WEW kicked it into high gear and beat GX with ease. So will that happen again this time? I'm leaning towards GX, but in the playoffs we'll see what happens.

I should stop predicting TSO matches, I'm so sickened by their downward spiral.

lets see....the predictions started out strong, but as we head west your predictions get steadily shittier. you put barely any work into finding out who is the better team, and your predictions are just guesses, usually based on who has the cooler name. although this week you seem to have been the only website to thus far post predictions, they are by far the worst. hopefully you can improve, but thats a decision that you yourself need to make. i understand its a lot of work, but i'd rather you actually do a good job, than to keep up these shitty predictions for west coast teams. perhaps you could divide up the predictions by location - your competition with gotfrag and domain of games is pretty tight, and i must say that gotfrag seems to do the better job.

ps. this is constructive criticizm...im not trying to outright flame anyone, so dont take it too personally.

sandman, I really don't think CSNation is trying to directly compete with gotfrag or dog as far as the esports info goes. Gotfrag is the gold standard, imho, for good esports coverage.
