    More HL2 Info

Planet Half-Life has a nice list of "rumors" floating around about Half-Life 2. By "rumors" they mean "things printed in magazines but it's not right to mention that they came from magazines since they're not at the library yet." Here's the list:
    • half-life 2 is scheduled for a september 30th release.

    • yes, you're still gordon freeman, and yes, the story assumes you went to work for the g-man.

    • half-life 2 takes place in a european city called "city 17."

    • headcrabs will be back! although some of the xen aliens will be your friends?

    • barney is back. and so is half-life's original writer, marc laidlaw.

    • while the new engine has all sorts of fancy features, it's still designed to work on lower-end machines. apparently a 700mhz processor and a video card capable of running dx6 is enough, although a 2ghz with a geforce4 is recommended.

    • the girl in the promo art is named alyx, a daughter of a scientist who factors into the story somehow. she's not playable.

    • scripted sequences will be more interactive.

    • half-life 3 is planned, so expect another cliffhanger ending.
    Thank you, Planet Half-Life!

I don't care what you guys post in the comments, but please keep useless things like "OHH YEAH!!!!!" to the previous item's comments page and things like "THIS IS A LINK TO SEE SOMETHING" to this very news item's comments page. Of course no one will follow this convention at all so you can just ignore me.

there's been another invasion by a new crop of scarier, more organized aliens, and thats all VALVe will tell us
There will be NO mission Briefings or Cutscenes. All Cinematic Style Scripted sequences will happen inside the game engine, so you'll never feel like you're taken out of the story, or that your anyone BUT Gordon Freeman.
The original cast of voice actors from Half-Life also return to reprise thier roles.
If Alyx lifts her arm, for instance, her breasts raise and flatten because all of the muscle effects are in the right place.
All quotes from the PCGAMER article -- OHH -- AHHHH
