My question is simply this:

Do Alyx and Gordon have romantic involvement in the HL2 story?



If they do then that totally ruins the believability of the storyline. Allow me to explain. See, Gordon has a PhD in physics from MIT. Thats fine and all but there is no way in hell that a PhD guy from MIT can bag a gal like Alyx. I don't care what kind of fancy nuclear theory he does, they just don't bite.



There was a time, I am told, that was good for MIT guys when Harvard people would take some interest. It hasn't been that good since the 70s.

I don't think there will be any romantic involvement whatsoever. I hope anyways. HL was never a "character" game... the characters don't really have personalities...

You know, Stooop, not to rain on your party or anything, but you've got to admit that there's probably a certain appeal to a guy who's smart enough to get his Ph.D yet dark, mysterious, and rugged enough to murder countless thousands of aliens, as well as a few hundred enemy soldiers, dozens of assassins, and the like. All that without so much as taking a nap in the middle. Well, ignoring getting knocked out and all. He's probably got some incredible stamina, which er, um, might be appealing for some unknown reason... :)



Either that or who knows, Gordon might just have threatened to feed daddy to the ant lions if she doesn't pretend to realllly like him.

In honor of Half-Life 2's release, I spent my whole first two periods drawing a sprawling scene of Gordon, aliens, Marines, and scientists on a big piece of foolscap. It was sweet.



I'm so happy I'm going to slap the keyboard with excitement!

Those are some good points Nighthawk... I guess it makes more sense for her to be attracted after HL1, because before that he was just a pastie technician. All the killing since then would probably improve his appeal like you said. In either case, we'll see...
