Update: Results and demos at GotFrag.[break="hi"]The Unreal vs 3D
Here's an interesting rematch. If you recall, TU pulled a huge upset defeating 3D in the preseason 13-11. Most people blame it on the map that was played (de_cpl_fire) but regardless The Unreal accomplished what others said they couldn't. 3D is no stranger to nuke; they've played this map thousands of times over the course of their cs career. I'm going to hand this game to 3D, though they've been scaring my lately with losing so many rounds to d0f and e7. Either the rest of the community is catching up, or 3D is still out of it from their visit to France.
3D -over- TU :: 15-9
Texas Area Untouchables vs Echo 7
This looks to be an excellent match. If I recall correctly, a few seasons back e7 pushed the insanely strong TAU to overtime on de_nuke. The roster was a bit different but it looks like a near rematch. TAU is back in their groove and is ready to take it far this season, and I don't see them just dropping tonights game. e7 may bring their A game but TAU is set to unveil an A+.
TAU -over- E7 :: 13-11
Excess vs Pinnacle
Battle of the teams going downhill. ExS should be finishing college soon and have more time to dedicate to Counter-Strike, while I'm not sure of Pinnacles deal other than the fact that they're very inconsistent. Therefore tonight ExS gets a win.
ExS -over- Pinnacle :: 14-10
Hicks With Sticks vs dictators 0f fate
After an impressive showing against current CPL champions 3D last week, d0f is ready to keep it up and taking it to the limit against their opponents. The Hicks will be no exception, and I'm sure d0f is ready to tack on another game to their record.
d0f -over- Hicks :: 16-8
art of eXecution vs Legends
aoX will take this one on experience.
Green Berets vs xeno
xeno is my upset pick this season.
xeno -over- GB :: 14-10
c[h]ikara vs zEx
[h] struggles to win even a few games last season. zEx was 16-0. Do I need to explain it further?
zEx -over- [h] :: 17-7
THE STOMPING GROUNDS vs Biodegradable Heroes
BiO has been in almost a slump lately, but I'm hoping they'll pull out of it long enough to put the boots to TSG.
BiO -over- TSG :: 14-10
Clan Crisis vs TEC
CC is my #2 pick for upset team this season, but I don't think they'll be pulling that off tonight against a powerful TEC team. TEC has shown time and again that they can technically pull a team apart one man at a time and I expect it to be no different tonight, though I do think CC can get some rounds.
TEC -over- Cc :: 15-9
gsx.tx vs shockwave
Hmm, this is a good one. Will shockwave pull off another "upset", given gsx is ranked better than them? I doubt it but I'm going to go with them for now because it never hurts to give a prediction for the underdog once in awhile.
Rival vs WeekEnd Warriors
Hrmm, WEW is not the strong WEW they were last season after losing basically all their starters in a weeks span. WEW has their work cut out for them in this game.
Rival -over- WEW :: 15-9
eCyberDeck vs The Speakeasy Offensive
Maybe TSO will regain their footing tonight and take out newcomer eCD. Maybe.
TSO -over- eCD :: 13-11
Gamers-X vs frag university
This doesn't need to be predicted. If frag pulls off this upset I'll eat my socks. Seriously.
GX -over- frag :: 18-6
nerve vs Short Yellow Bus
nerve looks like they're practicing more and putting forth more effort, while SYB has dropped some games despite my predicting them. So, I'll do what any good predictor does and stop predicting SYB until they get some kind of consistency going.
nerve -over- SYB :: 15-9
vision 2 max vs Ascension
Hmm, these v2m guys really have been screwing me over prediction wise. I didn't expect them to be off to such a great start in CAL-i considering they're such a new team but they must have found a niche in their chemistry pretty quick. Tonight I'm predicting you v2m. Don't make me regret it.
v2m -over- Ascension :: 16-8
EST vs MurK
MurK probably earned the title of upset kings when they beat zEx in week 1, and I'm sure EST will have quite a game ahead of them. Course, EST will have a ping advantage and this could be a huge factor in the match. Either way I think MurK has this one.
MurK -over- EST :: 14-10
