1.6 god damn it. WTF ABOUT 1.6 A counter-strike site with no news about the latest version. How fucking sad.
No need for the unpleasantness. Have you thought that perhaps it's not the website's fault? Have you thought that perhaps Valve are a little bit busy at the moment? If u wanna play 1.6 so badly go and play the Steam Beta. It's about as good as it's gonna get for a month or two.

          Hmmm... Just found this:

"Minh [Gooseman] is currently developing the unannounced Counter-Strike 2, which will likely use the new Team Fortress 2 engine developed by VALVe. He lives in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada."

On the CSNation site. Probably common knowledge but I wasn't aware that he was working on a sequel.

Non-Disclosure Agreement (or something like that) which means that they can't reveal any information that they know until the date specified in the contract.

Ya never know. Gooseman might just have been working on CS 2.0 since Valve took over...?
I remember seeing hints off of a interview that some gaming site did with gooseman a year or two ago, gave hints that they started developement and started working on it since the CS 1.0 or 1.3 era ~ I assume they didn't want the developement to be overly publicized, with aswell as TF2 & HL2, but hey maybe I'm wrong, who knows ? =)

                hehe :)

Well it makes sense. First of all HL, TFC and CS are released. Valve have started work on TF2 which is publicly announced. Valve decided to ditch the Quake engine (by that time it was nearly 5 years old as it was!) and start on the Valve Source Engine which we've learnt about recently. With the new engine they continue to develop HL2 and TF2 but stop updating us on TF2 to keep quiet about HL2.

                Meanwhile...

A young man named Minh Leah is beavering away at an increasingly popular MOD still in beta stages. Getting better and better.

Valve still develop HL2 and TF2 further.

Valve possibly realising that they've been a bit too quiet start getting involved. TF1.5, HL 1.1, Gunman, OpFor, Blue Shit, DeathMatch Classic and Ricochet. The HL fans are relatively happy with what they've seen.

Major work still goes on undercover with TF2 and HL2. Then Valve realise the potential of CS2 and give a lot of support to Gooseman.

They get it out of beta stages, buy the rights to develop it further. Gooseman is now left without anything to work on, but now he's essentially a Valve employee he knows about HL2 and TF2. So around about the time Valve take over CS, Valve let Gooseman rip on the HL2 engine to develop CS2.

Valve continue with HL2 and TF2, while making sure we see enough action going on with Steam and CS1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6 BETA etc.

Development stops on Steam, all goes quiet. Then we hear about HL2 and we realise that Steam/CS has stopped temporarily because of that.

They're all coming. They've gotta be. I'm just speculating, but it makes sense.
