Gabe Newell interview

As rizzuh has already mentioned below, the NDA for Half-Life 2 has been lifted and PC Gameplay Magazine has been doing a good job in giving us the info to the much awaited sequel.



There's a new interview typed with Gabe Newell (VALVe) and it's definitely worth your mouse click. I've just grabbed this quote to keep any new "wannabe Minh Le's" excited..

The Hammer editor will be included in the game, it's the successor to Worldcraft

Hammer is a very powerful editor that will allow you to make your own maps, levels and mods.

Well it excited me anyway...check out the whole interview and give us your own opinion. I realize that some sites are giving dot-point highlights of the interview but I only thought it was fair to give credit to PCGM as they actually did the interview. Some crazy 3drealms forums guy typed up the actual interview from the magazine, though.

Very good read. Very interesting. I'm very excited.

Like no other we understand the frustration of those looking forward to TF2, the game was announced and appears all but disappeared off the face of the earth.

The reason you haven't recieved any information on TF2 in a long time is that we didn't want to give anything about HL2 away.

We decided back then to use the V-Source engine for TF2 as well as HL2 and it was impossible for us to show parts of TF2 without uncovering the technology behind HL2, which we wanted to avoid at all cost.

This isn't a factor anymore though, so we can now reassure all you fans out there - TF2 will arrive soon and will use the HL2 engine.

ITS ALIVE!!!!!!!! AHAHAHAHAHHAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!! At least Gabe admits it fell off the face of the Earth. :P

I stopped getting excited about game releases a long-time ago, but the thought of half-life 2, counter-strike 2 and Team Fortress 2 all using this fantastic new engine is very exciting indeed!
