All this speculation is fun and all, but when it comes down to it proof is in the pudding. JUST GIMME ME THE GODDAMN GAME ALREADY!!!!!

rizzuh and @sspennies... CP is UNBELIEVABLE!!! i love it.
i just hope to gott in himmel that they don't fuck up the storyline. If HL2 comes out with story elements that don't mesh with the ones from the original HL, or don't tie up some loose ends from HL (like who the G-Man works for, etc.), i am going to slay everyone in sight.Comment

i shall be buying doom 3 and half life 2 anyway, so the sells will not change by my part.
Not only is their the challenge of keeping expectations in half life, cause im sure people would'nt mind changes in it, it would probally make it better. But changes for CS2 can ruin everything, small changes can make a big difference in CS. Jumping and walking speeds caused a stir, and the new weapons in 1.6, even though they seem ok for now, the long term effects might cause the game to be less addictive. Imigine the pressure there all under, hope they cope well.Comment

Hmm, I played Half-Life again the other day, and I loved it just as much as the first time I played it (The day it came out). Its a gripping game, and very much a "oh shit, is that time" type thing! The single player was amazing in every way, although it did wear a little thin by the last hour or so.Comment

I think the blurb Riz wrote is essentially correct. I am looking forward to seeing this game. The mods for it will, no doubt, be very diverse. I hope that the creative emphasis that got things like Natural Selection going continue in the HL style.
I don't know if I have anymore time in my life to play HL2 but I'd love to see the intro and what the play is like.Rambozo wrote..
So many memories. That thing made it possible for CTs to actually win that map half of the time. Now its just awp-fest for the Taliban... I mean the Ts.
I miss the CS APC, didn't miss it getting stuck though.Eskimo wrote..

um yeah. i have to add my 2cents worth to the "Halflife 1 is still addictive" thing. Do not come home and start playing it when you've been drinking. a. it's frustrating when your normally lightning fast reflexes disapear in an alcoholic morass and B. realising it's now 11am the next day is kinda rough. Only halflife does this to me.Comment

Quick thought. Sure, I'm looking forward to CS2, but looking at how Half-Life 2 is shaping up, by far the mod I'm most hoping to see a sequel to is... Natural Selection. It freaked me out quite a number of times when I first played it... but damn. I can't imagine how absolutely freaky you could make that with the V-Source engine! Oi, I get all giddy just thinking about the possibilities. :)Eskimo wrote..
Everyone knows all good things come in 3's. Starwars was a classic example, and The Matrix may well be another good example. Yeah, I'd like a few loose ends tied up, but I want a few new ones left at the end of this, for a grand finale with Half-Life 3.

Well I never went mass-murderer in Half-Life, but I will admit that, as soon as I figured out that the first barney wasn't gonna follow me any further, and I was in desperate need of a gun, I hit quicksave and proceeded to slaughter him. I felt kind of bad about it, but it's just a waste to leave a perfectly decent gun in the hands of a useless coward. :)

I can't count how many times I've seen the sunrise and realized that I've spent the whole night playing HL or a mod of it. Ugh, I just did that again with CS last night, and the damn birds make it freaking difficult to get a quick hour or two before work!

I love games of CS, and by far it's the mod that keeps me addicted to HL mods in general. However, after a night of CS I've got a few good memories of rounds, but not really an experience. Half-Life's single player was an experience that you just couldn't describe to anyone else -- you had to play it yourself. Even now, I find myself wanting to go back and start it up, from the monorail ride in through the very end.
Ahh, the memories...Comment

i hope half-life three will involve total freedom, like the freedom to screw those whores on that one CS map... you know, the one in the European city... yeah. that would be nice.

on that note, i wonder if HL2 will have anything between Alyx and Gordon?Comment
